| 6 | Et après que Paul leur eut imposé les mains, le Saint-Esprit descendit sur eux, et ainsi ils parlèrent divers langages, et prophétisèrent. | And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. | E, quando Paolo impose loro le mani, lo Spirito Santo scese su di loro e parlavano in altre lingue e profetizzavano. |

| 9 | Mais comme quelques-uns s'endurcissaient, et étaient rebelles, parlant mal de la voie du Seigneur devant la multitude, lui s'étant retiré d'avec eux, sépara les disciples; et il disputait tous les jours dans l'école d'un nommé Tyrannus. | But when some were hardened and disobedient, speaking evil of the Way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus. | Ma poiché alcuni si indurivano e persistevano nell'incredulità, parlando male della via in presenza della folla, egli, ritiratosi da loro, separò i discepoli e continuò a discutere ogni giorno nella scuola di un certo Tiranno. |
| 10 | Et cela continua l'espace de deux ans; de sorte que tous ceux qui demeuraient en Asie, tant Juifs que Grecs, ouïrent la parole du Seigneur Jésus. | And this continued for the space of two years; so that all they that dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks. | E questo durò per due anni di modo che tutti gli abitanti dell'Asia, Giudei e Greci, udirono la parola del Signore Gesù. |
| 11 | Et Dieu faisait des prodiges extraordinaires par les mains de Paul: | And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: | E Dio faceva prodigi straordinari per le mani di Paolo, |
| 12 | De sorte que même on portait de dessus son corps des mouchoirs et des linges sur les malades, et ils étaient guéris de leurs maladies, et les esprits malins sortaient des possédés. | insomuch that unto the sick were carried away from his body handkerchiefs or aprons, and the evil spirits went out. | al punto che si portavano sui malati degli asciugatoi e dei grembiuli che erano stati sul suo corpo, e le malattie si allontanavano da loro e gli spiriti maligni uscivano da loro. |
| 13 | Alors quelques-uns d'entre les Juifs exorcistes, qui couraient çà et là, essayèrent d'invoquer le Nom du Seigneur Jésus sur ceux qui étaient possédés des esprits malins, en disant: nous vous conjurons par ce Jésus que Paul prêche. | But certain also of the strolling Jews, exorcists, took upon them to name over them that had the evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, I adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. | Or alcuni itineranti esorcisti Giudei tentarono di invocare il nome del Signore Gesù su coloro che avevano gli spiriti maligni, dicendo: Vi scongiuriamo per Gesù, che Paolo predica!. |
| 14 | Et ceux qui faisaient cela étaient sept fils de Scéva Juif, principal Sacrificateur | And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, a chief priest, who did this. | E quelli che facevano questo erano sette figli di un certo Sceva, un capo sacerdote giudeo. |
| 15 | Mais le malin esprit répondant, dit: je connais Jésus, et je sais qui est Paul; mais vous, qui êtes-vous? | And the evil spirit answered and said unto them, Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are ye? | Ma lo spirito maligno rispose e disse: Io conosco Gesù e so chi è Paolo, ma voi chi siete?. |
| 16 | Et l'homme en qui était le malin esprit, sauta sur eux, et s'en étant rendu le maître, les traita si mal, qu'ils s'enfuirent de cette maison tout nus et blessés. | And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and mastered both of them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. | Quindi l'uomo che aveva lo spirito maligno si avventò su di loro e, sopraffattili, fece loro tal violenza che fuggirono da quella casa, nudi e feriti. |
| 17 | Or cela vint à la connaissance de tous les Juifs et des Grecs qui demeuraient à Ephèse; et ils furent tous saisis de crainte, et le Nom du Seigneur Jésus était glorifié. | And this became known to all, both Jews and Greeks, that dwelt at Ephesus; and fear fell upon them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. | Or questo fu risaputo da tutti i Giudei e Greci che abitavano ad Efeso, e furono tutti presi da paura, e il nome del Signore Gesù era magnificato. |
| 18 | Et plusieurs de ceux qui avaient cru venaient, confessant et déclarant ce qu'ils avaient fait. | Many also of them that had believed came, confessing, and declaring their deeds. | E molti di coloro che avevano creduto venivano a confessare, e a dichiarare le cose che avevano fatto. |
| 19 | Plusieurs aussi de ceux qui s'étaient adonnés à des pratiques curieuses, apportèrent leurs Livres, et les brûlèrent devant tous, dont ayant supputé le prix, on trouva qu'il montait à cinquante mille pièces d'argent. | And not a few of them that practised magical arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all; and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. | Molti di coloro che avevano esercitato le arti occulte radunarono assieme i libri e li arsero in presenza di tutti, e, calcolatone il prezzo, si trovò che ammontava a cinquantamila pezzi d'argento. |
| 20 | Ainsi la parole du Seigneur se répandait sensiblement, et produisait de grands effets. | So mightily grew the word of the Lord and prevailed. | Così la parola di Dio cresceva potentemente e si affermava. |
| 21 | Or après que ces choses furent faites, Paul se proposa par un mouvement de l'Esprit de passer par la Macédoine et par l'Achaïe, et d'aller à Jérusalem, disant: après que j'aurai été là, il me faut aussi voir Rome. | Now after these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome. | Dopo questi avvenimenti. Paolo si mise nell'animo di andare a Gerusalemme passando per la Macedonia e per l'Acaia, e diceva: Dopo essere stato lì, bisogna che io veda anche Roma. |
| 22 | Et ayant envoyé en Macédoine deux de ceux qui l'assistaient, savoir Timothée et Eraste, il demeura quelque temps en Asie. | And having sent into Macedonia two of them that ministered unto him, Timothy and Erastus, he himself stayed in Asia for a while. | Mandati allora in Macedonia due dei suoi collaboratori, cioè Timoteo ed Erasto, egli si trattenne ancora qualche tempo in Asia. |
| 23 | Mais en ce temps-là il arriva un grand trouble, à cause de la doctrine. | And about that time there arose no small stir concerning the Way. | Or in quel tempo nacque un grande tumulto in merito alla Via, |
| 24 | Car un certain homme, nommé Démétrius, qui travaillait en argenterie, et faisait de petits temples d'argent de Diane, et qui apportait beaucoup de profit aux ouvriers du métier, | For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, who made silver shrines of Diana, brought no little business unto the craftsmen; | perché un tale di nome Demetrio, orafo, che faceva dei templi di Diana in argento, procurava non poco guadagno agli artigiani. |
| 25 | Les assembla, avec d'autres qui travaillaient à de semblables ouvrages, et leur dit: Ô hommes! vous savez que tout notre gain vient de cet ouvrage. | whom he gathered together, with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this business we have our wealth. | Costui li radunò insieme ai lavoratori che avevano un'attività affine, e disse: Uomini, voi sapete che il nostro guadagno proviene da questa attività. |
| 26 | Or vous voyez et vous entendez comment non-seulement à Ephèse, mais presque par toute l'Asie, ce Paul-ci par ses persuasions a détourné beaucoup de monde, en disant que ceux-là ne sont point des dieux, qui sont faits de main. | And ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they are no gods, that are made with hands: | Or voi vedete e udite che questo Paolo ha persuaso e sviato un gran numero di gente non solo in Efeso, ma in quasi tutta l'Asia, dicendo che non sono dèi quelli costruiti da mano d'uomo. |
| 27 | Et il n'y a pas seulement de danger pour nous que notre métier ne vienne à être décrié, mais aussi que le Temple de la grande déesse Diane ne soit plus rien estimé, et qu'il n'arrive que sa majesté, laquelle toute l'Asie et le monde universel révère, ne soit anéantie. | and not only is there danger that this our trade come into disrepute; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana be made of no account, and that she should even be deposed from her magnificence whom all Asia and the world worshippeth. | Non solo c'è pericolo per noi che quest'arte particolare venga discreditata, ma che anche il tempio della grande dea Diana non conti più nulla, e che venga spogliata della sua grandezza colei che tutta l'Asia, anzi tutto il mondo, adora. |
| 28 | Et quand ils eurent entendu ces choses, ils furent tous remplis de colère, et s'écrièrent, disant: grande est la Diane des Ephésiens! | And when they heard this they were filled with wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesus. | All'udire queste cose, essi si accesero di sdegno e gridarono, dicendo: Grande è la Diana degli Efesini. |
| 29 | Et toute la ville fut remplie de confusion; et ils se jetèrent en foule dans le Théâtre, et enlevèrent Gaïus et Aristarque Macédoniens, compagnons de voyage de Paul. | And the city was filled with the confusion: and they rushed with one accord into the theatre, having seized Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul`s companions in travel. | E tutta la città fu ripiena di confusione; e, trascinando con forza Gaio e Aristarco, Macedoni, compagni di viaggio di Paolo, corsero tutti d'accordo al teatro. |
| 30 | Et comme Paul voulait entrer vers le peuple, les disciples ne le lui permirent point. | And when Paul was minded to enter in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not. | Or Paolo voleva presentarsi al popolo, ma i discepoli non glielo permisero. |
| 31 | Quelques-uns aussi d'entre les Asiarques, qui étaient ses amis, envoyèrent vers lui, pour le prier de ne se présenter point au Théâtre. | And certain also of the Asiarchs, being his friends, sent unto him and besought him not to adventure himself into the theatre. | Anche alcuni Asiarchi, che gli erano amici, mandarono a pregarlo di non presentarsi al teatro. |
| 32 | Les uns donc criaient d'une façon, et les autres d'une autre, car l'Assemblée était confuse, et plusieurs même ne savaient pas pourquoi ils étaient assemblés. | Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was in confusion; and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together. | Intanto gli uni gridavano una cosa, gli altri un'altra, tanto che l'adunanza era confusa e i più non sapevano per quale ragione si fossero radunati. |
| 33 | Alors Alexandre fut contraint de sortir hors de la foule, les Juifs le poussant à parler; et Alexandre faisant signe de la main, voulait alléguer quelque excuse au peuple. | And they brought Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made a defense unto the people. | Allora fu fatto uscire dalla folla Alessandro, spinto avanti dai Giudei. E Alessandro, fatto cenno con la mano, voleva parlare in sua difesa al popolo. |
| 34 | Mais quand ils eurent connu qu'il était Juif, il s'éleva une voix de tous, durant l'espace presque de deux heures, en criant: grande est la Diane des Ephésiens! | But when they perceived that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians. | Ma, quando si resero conto che egli era Giudeo, si misero tutti a gridare a una sola voce per quasi due ore: Grande è la Diana degli Efesini. |
| 35 | Mais le Secrétaire de la ville ayant apaisé cette multitude de peuple, dit: hommes Ephésiens, et qui est celui des hommes qui ne sache que la ville des Ephésiens est dédiée au service de la grande déesse Diane, et à son image, descendue de Jupiter? | And when the townclerk had quieted the multitude, he saith, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there who knoweth not that the city of the Ephesians is temple-keeper of the great Diana, and of the [image] which fell down from Jupiter? | Dopo aver calmato la folla, il cancelliere disse: Efesini, chi è mai quell'uomo che non sappia che la città degli Efesini è la custode del tempio della grande dea Diana e della sua immagine caduta da Giove? |
| 36 | Ces choses donc étant telles sans contradiction, il faut que vous vous apaisiez, et que vous ne fassiez rien imprudemment. | Seeing then that these things cannot be gainsaid, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rash. | Poiché dunque queste cose sono incontestabili, voi dovete restare calmi e non fare nulla di sconsiderato. |
| 37 | Car ces gens que vous avez amenés, ne sont ni sacrilèges, ni blasphémateurs de votre déesse. | For ye have brought [hither] these men, who are neither robbers of temples nor blasphemers of our goddess. | Infatti avete condotto qui questi uomini, che non sono né sacrileghi né bestemmiatori della vostra dea. |
| 38 | Mais si Démétrius et les ouvriers qui sont avec lui, ont quelque chose à dire contre quelqu'un, on tient la cour, et il y a des Proconsuls; qu'ils s'y appellent donc les uns les autres. | If therefore Demetrius, and the craftsmen that are with him, have a matter against any man, the courts are open, and there are proconsuls: let them accuse one another. | Se dunque Demetrio e gli artigiani che sono con lui hanno qualcosa contro qualcuno, i tribunali sono aperti e vi sono i proconsoli; presenti ognuno le sue accuse. |
| 39 | Et si vous avez quelque autre chose à demander, cela se pourra décider dans une assemblée dûment convoquée. | But if ye seek anything about other matters, it shall be settled in the regular assembly. | Se poi avete qualche altra richiesta da fare, ciò si risolverà nell'ordinaria assemblea. |
| 40 | Car nous sommes en danger d'être accusés de sédition pour ce qui s'est passé aujourd'hui; puisqu'il n'y a aucun sujet que nous puissions alléguer pour rendre raison de cette émeute. Et quand il eut dit ces choses, il congédia l'assemblée. | For indeed we are in danger to be accused concerning this day`s riot, there being no cause [for it]: and as touching it we shall not be able to give account of this concourse. | Noi infatti corriamo il rischio di essere accusati di sedizione per l'accaduto di oggi, non essendovi ragione alcuna con cui giustificare questo assembramento. |
| 41 | Or après que le trouble fut cessé, Paul fit venir les disciples, et les ayant embrassés, il partit pour aller en Macédoine. | And when he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly. | E, dette queste cose, sciolse l'adunanza. |
