| 14 | And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul. | Or, une femme nomme Lydie, marchande de pourpre de la ville de Thyatire, craignant Dieu, écoutait. Le Seigneur lui ouvrit le coeur pour qu'elle fût attentive à ce que disait Paul. | E una donna di nome Lidia, commerciante di porpora, della città di Tiatira, che adorava Dio, stava ad ascoltare. | 15 | And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us. | Quand elle eut été baptisée, ainsi que sa maison, elle (nous) adressa cette prière : "Puisque vous avez jugé que j'ai foi au Seigneur, entrez et demeurez dans ma maison."Et elle nous (y) contraignit. | Dopo essere stata battezzata con la sua famiglia, ci pregò dicendo: Se mi avete giudicata fedele al Signore, entrate e rimanete in casa mia. | 21 | And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans. | et ils prêchent des coutumes qu'il ne nous est permis, à nous qui sommes Romains, ni de recevoir ni de suivre." | e predicano usanze, che a noi che siamo Romani, non è lecito di accettare o di osservare. |
| 22 | And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them. | Et la foule se souleva contre eux, et les préteurs, ayant fait arracher leurs vêtements, ordonnèrent qu'on les flagellât. | Allora la folla insorse tutta insieme contro di loro; e i pretori, strappate loro le vesti, comandarono che fossero frustati. |

| 26 | And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed. | Tout à coup il y eut un tremblement de terre si fort que les fondements de la prison furent ébranlés; au même instant, toutes les portes s'ouvrirent et les liens de tous (les prisonniers) tombèrent. | Improvvisamente si fece un gran terremoto tanto che le fondamenta della prigione furono scosse: e in quell'istante tutte le porte si aprirono e le catene di tutti si sciolsero. |
| 27 | And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled. | Le geôlier, s'étant éveillé et voyant les portes de la prison ouvertes, tira (son) épée, et il allait se tuer, pensant que les prisonniers avaient pris la fuite. | Il carceriere, destatosi e viste le porte della prigione spalancate, trasse fuori la spada e stava per uccidersi, pensando che i prigionieri fossero fuggiti. |
| 28 | But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. | Mais Paul cria à pleine voix : "Ne te fais point de mal, car nous sommes tous ici." | Ma Paolo gridò ad alta voce: Non farti alcun male, perché noi siamo tutti qui. |
| 29 | Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, | (Le geôlier), ayant demandé des torches, se précipita et, pris de tremblement, tomba aux pieds de Paul et de Silas; | E, chiesto un lume, egli corse dentro, e tutto tremante si gettò ai piedi di Paolo e Sila; |
| 30 | And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? | puis il les mena dehors et dit : "Seigneur, que faut-il que je fasse pour être sauvé ?" | poi li condusse fuori e disse: Signori, cosa devo fare per essere salvato?. |
| 31 | And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. | Et ils dirent : "Crois au Seigneur Jésus, et tu seras sauvé, toi et ta maison." | Ed essi dissero: Credi nel Signore Gesù Cristo, e sarai salvato tu e la casa tua. |
| 32 | And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. | Et ils lui annoncèrent la parole du Seigneur, ainsi qu'à tous ceux qui étaient dans sa demeure. | Poi essi annunziarono la parola del Signore a lui e a tutti coloro che erano in casa sua. |
| 33 | And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. | Les prenant à cette même heure de la nuit, il lava leurs plaies, et aussitôt il fut baptisé, lui et tous les siens. | Ed egli li prese in quella stessa ora della notte e lavò loro le piaghe. E lui e tutti i suoi furono subito battezzati. |
| 34 | And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house. | Ensuite il les fit monter dans sa maison et (leur) servit à manger, et il se réjouit en famille d'avoir cru en Dieu. | Condottili quindi in casa sua, apparecchiò loro la tavola e si rallegrava con tutta la sua famiglia di aver creduto in Dio. |
| 35 | And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go. | Cependant, quand il fit jour, les préteurs envoyèrent les licteurs dire : Mets ces hommes en liberté. | Fattosi giorno i pretori mandarono i littori a dire al carceriere: Lascia liberi quegli uomini. |
| 36 | And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace. | Le geôlier rapporta les paroles à Paul : "Les préteurs ont envoyé (l'ordre) de vous relâcher; sortez donc maintenant et allez en paix." | E il carceriere riferì a Paolo queste parole: I pretori hanno mandato a dire che siate lasciati liberi; quindi uscite e andate in pace. |
| 37 | But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out. | Mais Paul dit (aux licteurs) : "Après nous avoir fait battre publiquement, sans condamnation, nous qui sommes Romains, on nous a jetés en prison, et maintenant on nous jette dehors secrètement ! Non point ! Mais qu'ils viennent eux-mêmes nous faire sortir ! " | Ma Paolo disse loro: Dopo averci pubblicamente battuti senza essere stati condannati in giudizio, noi che siamo cittadini romani, ci hanno gettati in prigione e ora ci fanno uscire di nascosto? No davvero! Vengano loro stessi a condurci fuori. |
| 38 | And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans. | Les licteurs rapportèrent ces paroles aux préteurs, qui furent effrayés en apprenant que c'étaient des Romains. | I littori riferirono queste parole ai pretori; ed essi, quando udirono che erano cittadini romani, ebbero paura. |
| 39 | And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city. | Ils vinrent les prier; et, après (les) avoir fait sortir, ils (leur) demandaient de quitter la ville. | Or essi vennero e li pregarono di scusarli e, condottili fuori, chiesero loro di lasciare la città. |
| 40 | And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed. | Au sortir de la prison, (Paul et Silas) entrèrent chez Lydie, et après avoir vu et exhorté les frères, ils partirent. | Allora essi, usciti di prigione, entrarono in casa di Lidia e, visti i fratelli, li consolarono; poi partirono. |
