| 14 | And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul. | Et une certaine femme, nommée Lydie, de la ville de Thyatire, marchande de pourpre, qui craignait Dieu, écoutait; et le Seigneur lui ouvrit le coeur, pour faire attention aux choses que Paul disait. | E una donna di nome Lidia, commerciante di porpora, della città di Tiatira, che adorava Dio, stava ad ascoltare. E il Signore aprì il suo cuore per dare ascolto alle cose dette da Paolo. |
| 15 | And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us. | Et quand elle eut été baptisée avec sa famille, elle nous fit cette prière: Si vous m'avez jugée fidèle au Seigneur, entrez dans ma maison, et y demeurez; et elle nous y obligea. | Dopo essere stata battezzata con la sua famiglia, ci pregò dicendo: Se mi avete giudicata fedele al Signore, entrate e rimanete in casa mia. | 16 | And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: | Or, comme nous allions à la prière, une servante qui avait un esprit de Python, et qui procurait un grand profit à ses maîtres en devinant, nous rencontra. | Ora, mentre andavamo al luogo della preghiera, ci venne incontro una giovane schiava che aveva uno spirito di divinazione e che, facendo l'indovina, procurava molto guadagno ai suoi padroni. |
| 17 | The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. | Ayant suivi Paul et nous, elle s'écria en disant: Ces hommes sont des serviteurs du Dieu très haut, qui vous annoncent la voie du salut. | Costei, messasi a seguire Paolo e noi, gridava, dicendo: Questi uomini sono servi del Dio Altissimo e vi annunziano la via della salvezza. |
| 18 | And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour. | Elle fit cela pendant plusieurs jours; mais Paul, en étant importuné, se retourna, et dit à l'esprit: Je te commande au nom de Jésus-Christ, de sortir de cette fille. | 19 | And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers, | Mais ses maîtres, voyant qu'ils avaient perdu l'espérance de leur gain, se saisirent de Paul et de Silas, et les traînèrent sur la place publique, devant les magistrats. | Ora i padroni di lei, vedendo che la speranza del loro guadagno era svanita, presero Paolo e Sila e li trascinarono sulla piazza del mercato davanti ai magistrati; |
| 20 | And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city, | Et les ayant menés aux préteurs, ils leur dirent: Ces hommes troublent notre ville; | e, presentatili ai pretori, dissero: Questi uomini, che sono Giudei, turbano la nostra città, |
| 21 | And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans. | Ce sont des Juifs, et ils enseignent une manière de vivre qu'il ne nous est pas permis de recevoir, ni de suivre, à nous qui sommes Romains. | e predicano usanze, che a noi che siamo Romani, non è lecito di accettare o di osservare. |
| 22 | And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them. | Alors la foule se souleva contre eux, et les préteurs, ayant fait déchirer leurs vêtements, ordonnèrent qu'ils fussent battus de verges. | Allora la folla insorse tutta insieme contro di loro; e i pretori, strappate loro le vesti, comandarono che fossero frustati. |
| 23 | And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely: | Et après leur avoir infligé plusieurs coups, ils les jetèrent en prison et ordonnèrent au geôlier de les garder sûrement. | E, dopo averli battuti con molti colpi, li gettarono in prigione, comandando al carceriere di tenerli al sicuro. |
| 24 | Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks. | Ayant reçu cet ordre, celui-ci les jeta dans la prison intérieure, et serra leurs pieds dans des entraves. | Questi, ricevuto un tale ordine, li gettò nella parte più interna della prigione e fissò i loro piedi ai ceppi. |

| 26 | And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed. | Et tout d'un coup il se fit un grand tremblement de terre, en sorte que les fondements de la prison furent ébranlés, et en même temps toutes les portes furent ouvertes, et les liens de tous furent rompus. | Improvvisamente si fece un gran terremoto tanto che le fondamenta della prigione furono scosse: e in quell'istante tutte le porte si aprirono e le catene di tutti si sciolsero. |
| 27 | And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled. | Alors le geôlier, s'étant réveillé, et voyant les portes de la prison ouvertes, tira son épée, et allait se tuer, croyant que les prisonniers s'étaient sauvés. | Il carceriere, destatosi e viste le porte della prigione spalancate, trasse fuori la spada e stava per uccidersi, pensando che i prigionieri fossero fuggiti. |
| 28 | But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. | Mais Paul d'une voix forte s'écria: Ne te fais point de mal; car nous sommes tous ici. | Ma Paolo gridò ad alta voce: Non farti alcun male, perché noi siamo tutti qui. |
| 29 | Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, | Alors le geôlier, ayant demandé de la lumière, entra promptement, et tout tremblant se jeta aux pieds de Paul et de Silas. | E, chiesto un lume, egli corse dentro, e tutto tremante si gettò ai piedi di Paolo e Sila; |
| 30 | And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? | Puis les menant dehors, il leur dit: Seigneurs, que faut-il que je fasse pour être sauvé? | poi li condusse fuori e disse: Signori, cosa devo fare per essere salvato?. |
| 31 | And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. | Ils lui dirent: Crois au Seigneur Jésus-Christ, et tu seras sauvé, toi et ta famille. | Ed essi dissero: Credi nel Signore Gesù Cristo, e sarai salvato tu e la casa tua. |
| 32 | And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. | Et ils lui annoncèrent la parole du Seigneur, et à tous ceux qui étaient dans sa maison. | Poi essi annunziarono la parola del Signore a lui e a tutti coloro che erano in casa sua. |
| 33 | And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. | Et les ayant pris avec lui à cette heure même de la nuit, il lava leurs plaies; et il fut aussitôt baptisé, lui et tous les siens. | Ed egli li prese in quella stessa ora della notte e lavò loro le piaghe. E lui e tutti i suoi furono subito battezzati. |
| 34 | And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house. | Et les conduisant dans son logement, il leur servit à manger; et il se réjouit de ce qu'il avait cru en Dieu, avec toute sa famille. | Condottili quindi in casa sua, apparecchiò loro la tavola e si rallegrava con tutta la sua famiglia di aver creduto in Dio. |
| 35 | And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go. | Le jour étant venu, les préteurs lui envoyèrent dire par les licteurs: Relâche ces hommes-là. | Fattosi giorno i pretori mandarono i littori a dire al carceriere: Lascia liberi quegli uomini. |
| 36 | And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace. | Aussitôt le geôlier rapporta ces paroles à Paul, et lui dit: Les préteurs ont envoyé pour vous faire relâcher; sortez donc maintenant, et allez en paix. | E il carceriere riferì a Paolo queste parole: I pretori hanno mandato a dire che siate lasciati liberi; quindi uscite e andate in pace. |
| 37 | But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out. | Mais Paul dit aux licteurs: Après nous avoir battus de verges publiquement, sans jugement, nous qui sommes Romains, ils nous ont mis en prison; et maintenant ils nous font sortir en secret; non certes! mais qu'ils viennent eux-mêmes nous faire sortir. | Ma Paolo disse loro: Dopo averci pubblicamente battuti senza essere stati condannati in giudizio, noi che siamo cittadini romani, ci hanno gettati in prigione e ora ci fanno uscire di nascosto? No davvero! Vengano loro stessi a condurci fuori. |
| 38 | And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans. | Et les licteurs rapportèrent ces paroles aux préteurs, qui eurent peur, apprenant qu'ils étaient Romains. | I littori riferirono queste parole ai pretori; ed essi, quando udirono che erano cittadini romani, ebbero paura. |
| 39 | And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city. | Et ils vinrent les apaiser, et les conduisant dehors, ils les prièrent de se retirer de la ville. | Or essi vennero e li pregarono di scusarli e, condottili fuori, chiesero loro di lasciare la città. |
| 40 | And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed. | Et eux, étant sortis de la prison, entrèrent chez Lydie; et ayant vu les frères, ils les consolèrent, et ensuite ils partirent. | Allora essi, usciti di prigione, entrarono in casa di Lidia e, visti i fratelli, li consolarono; poi partirono. |
