| 2 | Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. | Prêche la parole, insiste dans toutes les occasions; reprends, censure, exhorte avec toute douceur d'esprit, et avec doctrine. |
| 3 | For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; | Car le temps viendra auquel ils ne souffriront point la saine doctrine, mais aimant qu'on leur chatouille les oreilles, par des discours agréables ils chercheront des Docteurs qui répondent à leurs désirs. |
| 4 | And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. | Et ils détourneront leurs oreilles de la vérité, et se tourneront aux fables. |
| 5 | But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. | Mais toi, veille en toutes choses, souffre les afflictions, fais l'oeuvre d'un Evangéliste, rends ton Ministère pleinement approuvé. |
| 6 | For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. | Car pour moi, je m'en vais maintenant être mis pour l'aspersion du sacrifice, et le temps de mon départ est proche. |
| 7 | I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: | J'ai combattu le bon combat, j'ai achevé la course, j'ai gardé la foi. |
| 8 | Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. | Au reste, la couronne de justice m'est réservée, et le Seigneur, juste juge, me la rendra en cette journée-là, et non seulement à moi, mais aussi à tous ceux qui auront aimé son apparition. |
