| 1 | Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper. | Or Naaman, chef de l'armée du roi de Syrie, était un homme puissant auprès de son seigneur et fort honoré, parce que l'Éternel avait délivré les Syriens par son moyen; mais cet homme fort et vaillant était lépreux. | Or Naaman, capo dell'esercito del re di Siria, era un uomo grande e altamente stimato agli occhi del suo signore, perché per mezzo suo l'Eterno aveva dato vittoria alla Siria; ma quest'uomo forte e valoroso era lebbroso. |
| 2 | And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife. | Et quelques troupes étaient sorties de Syrie et avaient emmené prisonnière une petite fille du pays d'Israël, et elle servait la femme de Naaman. | Or alcune bande di Siri in una razzìa avevano portato via come prigioniera dal paese d'Israele una piccola fanciulla, che era finita al servizio della moglie di Naaman. |
| 3 | And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy. | Et elle dit à sa maîtresse: Oh! si mon seigneur était devant le prophète qui est à Samarie! Il le guérirait aussitôt de sa lèpre. | Ella disse alla sua padrona: Se il mio signore potesse andare dal profeta che è in Samaria, certamente egli lo libererebbe dalla sua lebbra!. |
| 4 | And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel. | Naaman vint donc le rapporter à son seigneur, et lui dit: La jeune fille du pays d'Israël a dit telle et telle chose. | Così Naaman andò dal suo signore e gli riferì la cosa, dicendo: La fanciulla del paese d'Israele ha detto così e così. |
| 5 | And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment. | Et le roi de Syrie dit: Pars, va, et j'enverrai une lettre au roi d'Israël. Et il partit, prenant en sa main dix talents d'argent, six mille pièces d'or, et dix robes de rechange. | Allora il re di Siria disse: Va' pure io manderò una lettera al re d'Israele. Egli dunque partì, prendendo con sé dieci talenti d'argento, seimila sicli d'oro e dieci cambi di vesti. |
| 6 | And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy. | Et il porta au roi d'Israël la lettre, qui disait: Dès que cette lettre te sera parvenue, tu sauras que je t'ai envoyé Naaman, mon serviteur, afin que tu le guérisses de sa lèpre. | Portò quindi al re d'Israele la lettera che diceva: Quando ti giungerà questa lettera, sappi che ti mando il mio servo Naaman, perché lo guarisca dalla sua lebbra. |
| 7 | And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me. | Dès que le roi d'Israël eut lu la lettre, il déchira ses vêtements et dit: Suis-je Dieu, pour faire mourir ou vivre, que celui-ci envoie vers moi pour guérir un homme de sa lèpre? C'est pourquoi, sachez et voyez qu'il ne cherche qu'une occasion contre moi. | Dopo aver letta la lettera, il re d'Israele si stracciò le vesti e disse Sono io DIO, col potere di far morire e vivere, che costui mi manda un uomo perché lo guarisca dalla sua lebbra? | 8 | And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel. | Mais quand Élisée, l'homme de Dieu, apprit que le roi d'Israël avait déchiré ses vêtements, il envoya dire au roi: Pourquoi as-tu déchiré tes vêtements? | 9 | So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha. | Naaman vint donc avec ses chevaux et son char, et s'arrêta à la porte de la maison d'Élisée. | Così Naaman venne con i suoi cavalli e i suoi carri e si fermò alla porta della casa di Eliseo. |
| 10 | And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean. | Et Élisée lui envoya un messager pour lui dire: Va, lave-toi sept fois au Jourdain, et ta chair te reviendra, et tu seras pur. | Allora Eliseo gli inviò un messaggero a dirgli: Va' a lavarti sette volte nel Giordano, e la tua carne tornerà come prima e sarai mondato. |
| 11 | But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper. | Mais Naaman se mit fort en colère, et s'en alla, en disant: Voici, je me disais: Il sortira certainement vers moi; il se tiendra là; il invoquera le nom de l'Éternel son Dieu; il étendra sa main sur la plaie et guérira le lépreux. | Ma Naaman si adirò e se ne andò dicendo: Ecco, io pensavo: "Egli uscirà certamente incontro a me, si fermerà, invocherà il nome dell'Eterno, il suo DIO, agiterà la mano sulla parte malata e mi guarirà dalla lebbra". |
| 12 | Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage. | L'Abana et le Parpar, les fleuves de Damas, ne valent-ils pas mieux que toutes les eaux d'Israël? Ne pourrais-je m'y laver et devenir pur? Ainsi il s'en retournait et s'en allait tout en colère. | I fiumi di Damasco, l'Abanah e il Farpar, non sono forse migliori di tutte le acque d'Israele? Non potrei lavarmi in quelli ed essere mondato?. Così si voltò e se ne andò tutto infuriato. |
| 13 | And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean? | Mais ses serviteurs s'approchèrent, et lui dirent: Mon père, si le prophète t'eût dit quelque chose de difficile, ne le ferais-tu pas? Combien plus lorsqu'il te dit: Lave-toi et tu seras pur! | Ma i suoi servi gli si avvicinarono e gli parlarono, dicendo: Padre mio, se il profeta ti avesse ordinato una grande cosa, non l'avresti fatta? Tanto più ora che ti ha detto: "Lavati e sarai mondato". |
| 14 | Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean. | Alors il se pencha, et se mouilla dans le Jourdain sept fois, selon la parole de l'homme de Dieu; et sa chair lui revint semblable à la chair d'un petit enfant, et il fut pur. | Allora egli scese e si immerse sette volte nel Giordano, secondo la parola dell'uomo di DIO; la sua carne tornò come la carne di un piccolo fanciullo e fu mondato. |
| 15 | And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a blessing of thy servant. | Alors il retourna vers l'homme de Dieu, lui et toute sa suite, et vint se présenter devant lui, et dit: Voici, je reconnais qu'il n'y a point de Dieu dans toute la terre, si ce n'est en Israël. Et maintenant, veuille accepter une marque de reconnaissance de la part de ton serviteur. | Poi tornò con tutto il suo seguito dall'uomo di DIO, andò a presentarsi davanti a lui e disse: Ecco, ora riconosco che non c'è alcun DIO in tutta la terra, se non in Israele. Perciò ora, ti prego, accetta un dono dal tuo servo. |
| 16 | But he said, As the LORD liveth, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take it; but he refused. | Mais Élisée répondit: L'Éternel, en la présence de qui je me tiens, est vivant! je n'en accepterai pas. Et Naaman le pressa d'accepter, mais il refusa. | Ma egli rispose: Com'è vero che vive l'Eterno alla cui presenza io sto, non accetterò nulla. Naaman insisteva con lui perché accettasse, ma egli rifiutò. |
| 17 | And Naaman said, Shall there not then, I pray thee, be given to thy servant two mules' burden of earth? for thy servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods, but unto the LORD. | Alors Naaman dit: Mais, je te prie, ne pourrait-on pas donner de cette terre à ton serviteur, la charge de deux mulets? Car ton serviteur ne fera plus d'holocauste ni de sacrifice à d'autres dieux qu'à l'Éternel. | Allora Naaman disse: Poiché non vuoi, permetti che sia data al tuo servo tanta terra quanta ne portano due muli, perché il tuo servo non offrirà più olocausti e sacrifici ad altri dèi, ma solo all'Eterno. |
| 18 | In this thing the LORD pardon thy servant, that when my master goeth into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leaneth on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon: when I bow down myself in the house of Rimmon, the LORD pardon thy servant in this thing. | L'Éternel veuille pardonner ceci à ton serviteur: c'est que, lorsque mon maître entrera dans la maison de Rimmon pour s'y prosterner, et qu'il s'appuiera sur ma main, je me prosternerai dans la maison de Rimmon. L'Éternel veuille pardonner à ton serviteur, quand je me prosternerai dans la maison de Rimmon! | Tuttavia l'Eterno perdoni il tuo servo per questa cosa: quando il mio signore si reca nel tempio di Rimmon; per farvi adorazione e si appoggia al mio braccio, se anch'io mi prostro nel tempio di Rimmon; voglia l'Eterno perdonare il tuo servo per questa cosa, quando io mi prostrerò nel tempio di Rimmon. |
| 19 | And he said unto him, Go in peace. So he departed from him a little way. | Et Élisée lui dit: Va en paix! Ainsi, l'ayant quitté, Naaman fit quelque peu de chemin. | Il profeta gli disse: Va' in pace!. Così partì da lui e fece un buon tratto di strada. |
| 20 | But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master hath spared Naaman this Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought: but, as the LORD liveth, I will run after him, and take somewhat of him. | Alors Guéhazi, serviteur d'Élisée, l'homme de Dieu, dit en lui-même: Voici, mon maître a ménagé Naaman, ce Syrien, et n'a pas accepté de sa main ce qu'il avait apporté. L'Éternel est vivant! je courrai après lui et j'en recevrai quelque chose. | Ma Ghehazi, servo di Eliseo, uomo di DIO, disse fra sé: Ecco, il mio signore ha usato troppa gentilezza con Naaman, questo Siro, non accettando dalla sua mano ciò che egli aveva portato; com'è vero che l'Eterno vive, gli correrò dietro e prenderò da lui qualcosa. |
| 21 | So Gehazi followed after Naaman. And when Naaman saw him running after him, he lighted down from the chariot to meet him, and said, Is all well? | Guéhazi courut donc après Naaman. Et Naaman, voyant qu'il courait après lui, sauta de son char à sa rencontre, et dit: Tout va-t-il bien? | Così Ghehazi inseguì Naaman quando Naaman vide che gli correva dietro, saltò giù dal carro per andargli incontro e gli disse: Va tutto bene?. |
| 22 | And he said, All is well. My master hath sent me, saying, Behold, even now there be come to me from mount Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets: give them, I pray thee, a talent of silver, and two changes of garments. | Et il répondit: Tout va bien. Mon maître m'envoie te dire: Voici, il m'arrive à l'instant même, de la montagne d'Éphraïm, deux jeunes gens d'entre les fils des prophètes; donne-leur, je te prie, un talent d'argent et deux robes de rechange. | Quegli rispose: Tutto bene, Il mio signore mi manda a dirti: "Ecco, proprio ora sono giunti da me dalla regione montuosa di Efraim, due giovani dei discepoli dei profeti; ti prego, da' loro un talento d'argento e due cambi di vesti". |
| 23 | And Naaman said, Be content, take two talents. And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and laid them upon two of his servants; and they bare them before him. | Et Naaman dit: Veuille accepter deux talents; et il le pressa, et mit dans deux sacs deux talents, ainsi que deux robes de rechange; et il les donna à deux de ses serviteurs qui les portèrent devant Guéhazi. | Allora Naaman disse: Ti prego, accetta due talenti!, e insistette con lui. Legò quindi due talenti d'argento in due sacchi con due cambi di vesti e li consegnò a due dei suoi servi, che li portarono davanti a lui. |
| 24 | And when he came to the tower, he took them from their hand, and bestowed them in the house: and he let the men go, and they departed. | Et quand il fut parvenu à la colline, il les prit d'entre leurs mains et les serra dans la maison; puis il renvoya ces gens-là, et ils s'en retournèrent. | Giunto alla collina, prese i sacchi dalle loro mani, li ripose nella casa, poi rimandò indietro gli uomini, che se ne andarono. |
| 25 | But he went in, and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Whence comest thou, Gehazi? And he said, Thy servant went no whither. | Alors il rentra, et se présenta devant son maître. Et Élisée lui dit: D'où viens-tu, Guéhazi? Et il lui répondit: Ton serviteur n'est allé ni d'un côté ni d'autre. | Andò quindi a presentarsi davanti al suo signore. Eliseo gli disse: Dove sei andato, Ghehazi?. Questi rispose: Il tuo servo non è andato in nessun luogo. |
| 26 | And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants? | Mais Élisée lui dit: Mon esprit n'est-il pas allé là où cet homme a quitté son char pour venir à ta rencontre? Est-ce le temps de prendre de l'argent, de prendre des vêtements, puis des oliviers et des vignes, des brebis et des boeufs, des serviteurs et des servantes? | Ma Eliseo gli disse: Il mio spirito non ti aveva forse seguito, quando quell'uomo è tornato indietro dal suo carro per venirti incontro? E' forse questo il momento di prender denaro, di prendere vesti, uliveti e vigne, pecore e buoi, servi e serve? |
| 27 | The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow. | C'est pourquoi la lèpre de Naaman s'attachera à toi et à ta postérité à jamais! Et il sortit de devant Élisée, blanc de lèpre comme la neige. | La lebbra di Naaman si attaccherà perciò a te e alla tua discendenza per sempre. Così Ghehazi uscì dalla presenza di Eliseo tutto lebbroso, bianco come la neve. |
