Il ne fit point ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Éternel, son Dieu, comme David, son père; | Twenty years old was Ahaz when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and he did not that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah his God, like David his father. |
| 3 | mais il marcha dans la voie des rois d'Israël, et même il fit passer son fils par le feu, selon les abominations des nations que l'Éternel avait dépossédées devant les fils d'Israël. | Mais il suivit la voie des rois d'Israël; et même il fit passer son fils par le feu, selon les abominations des nations que l'Éternel avait chassées devant les enfants d'Israël. | But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, yea, and made his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the nations, whom Jehovah cast out from before the children of Israel. |

| 5 | Alors Retsin, roi de Syrie, et Pékakh, fils de Remalia, roi d'Israël, montèrent à Jérusalem pour lui faire la guerre; et ils assiégèrent Achaz; mais ils ne purent pas le vaincre. | Alors Retsin, roi de Syrie, et Pékach, fils de Rémalia, roi d'Israël, montèrent contre Jérusalem pour combattre, et ils assiégèrent Achaz; mais ils ne purent point en venir à bout par les armes. | Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to war: and they besieged Ahaz, but could not overcome him. |
| 6 | En ce temps-là, Retsin, roi de Syrie, recouvra Élath pour la Syrie; et il expulsa d'Élath les Juifs; et les Syriens entrèrent à Élath, et ils y ont habité jusqu'à ce jour. | En ce temps-là, Retsin, roi de Syrie, remit Élath en la puissance des Syriens, car il déposséda les Juifs d'Élath, et les Syriens vinrent à Élath, où ils ont demeuré jusqu'à ce jour. | At that time Rezin king of Syria recovered Elath to Syria, and drove the Jews from Elath; and the Syrians came to Elath, and dwelt there, unto this day. |
| 7 | Et Achaz envoya des messagers à Tiglath-Piléser, roi d'Assyrie, disant: Je suis ton serviteur et ton fils; monte, et sauve-moi de la main du roi de Syrie et de la main du roi d'Israël qui s'élèvent contre moi. | Or Achaz avait envoyé des députés à Tiglath-Piléser, roi des Assyriens, pour lui dire: Je suis ton serviteur et ton fils; monte et délivre-moi de la main du roi de Syrie et de la main du roi d'Israël, qui s'élèvent contre moi. | So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, saying, I am thy servant and thy son: come up, and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, who rise up against me. |

| 9 | Et le roi d'Assyrie l'écouta; et le roi d'Assyrie monta à Damas, et la prit, et en transporta les habitants à Kir, et fit mourir Retsin. | Le roi d'Assyrie fit ce qu'il souhaitait; il monta contre Damas, la prit, en transporta le peuple à Kir, et fit mourir Retsin. | And the king of Assyria hearkened unto him; and the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, and took it, and carried [the people of] it captive to Kir, and slew Rezin. |
| 10 | Et le roi Achaz s'en alla à la rencontre de Tiglath-Piléser, roi d'Assyrie, à Damas; et il vit l'autel qui était à Damas: et le roi Achaz envoya à Urie, le sacrificateur, la forme de l'autel et son modèle, selon toute sa façon. | Alors le roi Achaz s'en alla à Damas au-devant de Tiglath-Piléser, roi d'Assyrie. Or le roi Achaz, ayant vu l'autel qui était à Damas, envoya à Urie, le sacrificateur, le dessin et le modèle de cet autel, selon toute sa construction. | And king Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and saw the altar that was at Damascus; and king Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the fashion of the altar, and the pattern of it, according to all the workmanship thereof. |
| 11 | Et Urie, le sacrificateur, bâtit l'autel selon tout ce que le roi Achaz avait envoyé de Damas; Urie, le sacrificateur, le fit ainsi, en attendant que le roi Achaz revînt de Damas. | Et Urie, le sacrificateur, bâtit un autel suivant tout ce que le roi Achaz avait mandé de Damas. Urie, le sacrificateur, le fit avant que le roi fût revenu de Damas. | And Urijah the priest built an altar: according to all that king Ahaz had sent from Damascus, so did Urijah the priest make it against the coming of king Ahaz from Damascus. |
| 12 | Et le roi revint de Damas, et le roi vit l'autel, et le roi s'approcha de l'autel, et y offrit; | Et quand le roi Achaz fut revenu de Damas et qu'il eut vu l'autel, il s'en approcha et y monta. | And when the king was come from Damascus, the king saw the altar: and the king drew near unto the altar, and offered thereon. |
| 13 | et il fit fumer sur l'autel son holocauste et son offrande de gâteau, et versa sa libation, et fit aspersion du sang de ses sacrifices de prospérités. | Il fit fumer sur cet autel son holocauste et son oblation, y versa ses libations et y répandit le sang de ses sacrifices de prospérités. | And he burnt his burnt-offering and his meal-offering, and poured his drink-offering, and sprinkled the blood of his peace-offerings, upon the altar. |
| 14 | Et quant à l'autel d'airain qui était devant l'Éternel, il le fit avancer de devant la maison, d'entre son autel et la maison de l'Éternel, et le mit à côté de son autel, vers le nord. | Quant à l'autel d'airain qui était devant l'Éternel, il le transporta de devant la maison, en sorte qu'il ne fût point entre son autel et la maison de l'Éternel; et il le mit à côté de cet autel-là, vers le nord. | And the brazen altar, which was before Jehovah, he brought from the forefront of the house, from between his altar and the house of Jehovah, and put it on the north side of his altar. |
| 15 | Et le roi Achaz commanda à Urie, le sacrificateur, disant: Fais fumer sur le grand autel l'holocauste du matin et l'offrande de gâteau du soir, et l'holocauste de tout le peuple du pays, et leur offrande de gâteau, et leurs libations; et tu feras aspersion de tout le sang des holocaustes et de tout le sang des sacrifices sur cet autel; et l'autel d'airain sera pour moi, afin d'y consulter. | Puis le roi Achaz donna ce commandement à Urie, le sacrificateur: Tu feras fumer sur le grand autel l'holocauste du matin et l'oblation du soir, l'holocauste du roi et son oblation, l'holocauste de tout le peuple du pays et leurs oblations; tu y répandras leurs libations, tout le sang des holocaustes, et tout le sang des sacrifices. Mais, quant à l'autel d'airain, ce sera à moi d'examiner. | And king Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, Upon the great altar burn the morning burnt-offering, and the evening meal-offering, and the king`s burnt-offering, and his meal-offering, with the burnt-offering of all the people of the land, and their meal-offering, and their drink-offerings; and sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt-offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice: but the brazen altar shall be for me to inquire by. |

| 17 | Et le roi Achaz enleva les panneaux des bases, et ôta les cuves qui étaient dessus; et il fit descendre la mer de dessus les boeufs d'airain qui étaient sous elle, et la mit sur un pavé de pierre. | De plus le roi Achaz mit en morceaux les panneaux des socles et en ôta les cuves qui étaient dessus; il descendit la mer de dessus les boeufs d'airain qui étaient dessous, et la mit sur un pavé de pierre. | And king Ahaz cut off the panels of the bases, and removed the laver from off them, and took down the sea from off the brazen oxen that were under it, and put it upon a pavement of stone. |
| 18 | Et il changea, dans la maison de l'Éternel, le portique du sabbat, qu'on avait bâti dans la maison, et l'entrée extérieure du roi, à cause du roi d'Assyrie. | Il ôta aussi de la maison de l'Éternel, à cause du roi d'Assyrie, le portique couvert du sabbat, qu'on avait bâti au temple, et l'entrée du roi, qui était en dehors. | And the covered way for the sabbath that they had built in the house, and the king`s entry without, turned he unto the house of Jehovah, because of the king of Assyria. |
| 19 | Et le reste des actes d'Achaz, ce qu'il fit, cela n'est-il pas écrit dans le livre des chroniques des rois de Juda? | Le reste des actions d'Achaz, et ce qu'il fit, n'est-il pas écrit au livre des Chroniques des rois de Juda? | Now the rest of the acts of Ahaz which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? |
| 20 | Et Achaz s'endormit avec ses pères, et fut enterré avec ses pères dans la ville de David; et Ézéchias, son fils, régna à sa place. | Puis Achaz s'endormit avec ses pères et fut enseveli avec eux dans la cité de David, et Ézéchias, son fils, régna à sa place. | And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead. |
