| 6 | Nous avons donc engagé Tite à achever chez vous cette oeuvre de bienfaisance, comme il l'avait commencée. | Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also. | Insomuch that we exhorted Titus, that as he made a beginning before, so he would also complete in you this grace also. | Così abbiamo esortato Tito che, come ha iniziato quest'opera di grazia fra di voi, così la porti a compimento. |

| 10 | C'est un avis que je donne là-dessus, car cela vous convient, à vous qui non seulement avez commencé à agir, mais qui en avez eu la volonté dès l'année dernière. | And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago. | And herein I give [my] judgment: for this is expedient for you, who were the first to make a beginning a year ago, not only to do, but also to will. | A questo riguardo vi do un consiglio, perché questo è utile a voi, che fin dall'anno scorso non solo cominciaste a fare, ma anche a volere. |
| 11 | Achevez donc maintenant d'agir, afin que l'accomplissement selon vos moyens réponde à l'empressement que vous avez mis à vouloir. | Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have. | But now complete the doing also; that as [there was] the readiness to will, so [there may be] the completion also out of your ability. | Ora compite anche il fare affinché, come vi è stata la prontezza del volere, così vi sia pure il compimento secondo le vostre possibilità. |
| 12 | La bonne volonté, quand elle existe, est agréable en raison de ce qu'elle peut avoir à sa disposition, et non de ce qu'elle n'a pas. | For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not. | For if the readiness is there, [it is] acceptable according as [a man] hath, not according as [he] hath not. | Se infatti c'è la prontezza d'animo, uno è accettevole secondo quello che ha e non secondo ciò che non ha. |
| 13 | Car il s'agit, non de vous exposer à la détresse pour soulager les autres, mais de suivre une règle d'égalité : dans la circonstance présente votre superflu pourvoira à leurs besoins, | For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened: | For [I say] not [this] that others may be eased [and] ye distressed; | Però non si vuole mettere sotto pressione voi per dar sollievo agli altri, |

| 22 | Nous envoyons avec eux notre frère, dont nous avons souvent éprouvé le zèle dans beaucoup d'occasions, et qui en montre plus encore cette fois à cause de sa grande confiance en vous. | And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have oftentimes proved diligent in many things, but now much more diligent, upon the great confidence which I have in you. | and we have sent with them our brother, whom we have many times proved earnest in many things, but now much more earnest, by reason of the great confidence which [he hath] in you. | Or noi abbiamo mandato con loro il nostro fratello, che abbiamo provato spesse volte in molte cose e trovato essere zelante, ma ora è ancora più zelante per la grande fiducia che ha in voi. |

| 24 | Donnez-leur donc, à la face des Églises, la preuve de votre charité, et montrez-leur que nous avons sujet de nous glorifier de vous. | Wherefore shew ye to them, and before the churches, the proof of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf. | Show ye therefore unto them in the face of the churches the proof of your love, and of our glorying on your behalf. | Date dunque loro la prova del vostro amore e della ragione per cui ci gloriamo di voi anche davanti alla chiese. |
