| 4 | But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, | Mais nous rendant recommandables, en toutes choses, comme ministres de Dieu, en grande patience, en afflictions, en nécessités, en angoisses, |
| 5 | In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings; | En blessures, en prisons, en troubles, en travaux, |
| 6 | By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned, | En veilles, en jeûnes, en pureté; par la connaissance, par un esprit patient, par la douceur, par le Saint-Esprit, par une charité sincère, |
| 7 | By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, | Par la parole de la vérité, par la puissance de Dieu, par les armes de justice que l'on porte à la main droite et à la main gauche. |
| 8 | By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true; | Parmi l'honneur et l'ignominie, parmi la calomnie et la bonne réputation. |
| 9 | As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed; | Comme séducteurs, et toutefois étant véritables; comme inconnus, et toutefois étant reconnus; comme mourants, et voici nous vivons; comme châtiés, et toutefois non mis à mort; |
| 10 | As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. | Comme attristés, et toutefois toujours joyeux; comme pauvres, et toutefois enrichissant plusieurs; comme n'ayant rien, et toutefois possédant toutes choses. |

| 13 | Now for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged. | Or pour nous traiter de la même manière ( je vous parle comme à mes enfants) élargissez-vous aussi à notre égard. |
| 14 | Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? | Ne portez pas un même joug avec les infidèles; car quelle participation y a-t-il de la justice avec l'iniquité? et quelle communication y a-t-il de la lumière avec les ténèbres? |
| 15 | And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? | Et quel accord y a-t-il de Christ avec Bélial? ou quelle part a le fidèle avec l'infidèle? |
| 16 | And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. | Et quelle convenance y a-t-il du Temple de Dieu avec les idoles? car vous êtes le Temple du Dieu vivant, selon ce que Dieu a dit: j'habiterai au milieu d'eux, et j'y marcherai; et je serai leur Dieu, et ils seront mon peuple. |
| 17 | Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. | C'est pourquoi sortez du milieu d'eux, et vous en séparez, dit le Seigneur; et ne touchez à aucune chose souillée et je vous recevrai; |
| 18 | And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. | Et je vous serai pour père, et vous me serez pour fils et pour filles, dit le Seigneur Tout-puissant. |
