| 2 | For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: | Car c'est aussi pour cela que nous gémissons, désirant avec ardeur d'être revêtus de notre domicile, qui est du Ciel: | Poiché in questa tenda noi gemiamo, desiderando di essere rivestiti della nostra abitazione celeste |
| 3 | If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. | Si toutefois nous sommes trouvés vêtus, et non point nus. | se pure saremo trovati vestiti e non nudi. |
| 4 | For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. | Car nous qui sommes dans cette tente, nous gémissons étant chargés; vu que nous désirons, non pas d'être dépouillés, mais d'être revêtus; afin que ce qui est mortel, soit absorbé par la vie. | Noi infatti che siamo in questa tenda gemiamo, essendo aggravati, e perciò non desideriamo già di essere spogliati ma rivestiti, affinché ciò che è mortale sia assorbito dalla vita. |
| 5 | Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. | Or celui qui nous a formés à cela même, c'est Dieu; qui aussi nous a donné les arrhes de l'Esprit. | Or colui che ci ha formati proprio per questo è Dio, il quale ci ha anche dato la caparra dello Spirito. |
| 6 | Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: | Nous avons donc toujours confiance; et nous savons que logeant dans ce corps, nous sommes absents du Seigneur; | Noi dunque abbiamo sempre fiducia e sappiamo che mentre dimoriamo nel corpo, siamo lontani dal Signore. |

| 8 | We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. | Nous avons, dis-je, de la confiance, et nous aimons mieux être absents de ce corps, et être avec le Seigneur. | Ma siamo fiduciosi e abbiamo molto più caro di partire dal corpo e andare ad abitare con il Signore. |
| 9 | Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. | C'est pourquoi aussi nous nous efforçons de lui être agréables, et présents, et absents. | Perciò ci studiamo di essergli graditi, sia che abitiamo nel corpo, sia che partiamo da esso. |
| 10 | For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. | Car il nous faut tous comparaître devant le Tribunal de Christ, afin que chacun remporte en son corps selon ce qu'il aura fait, soit bien, soit mal. | Noi tutti infatti dobbiamo comparire davanti al tribunale di Cristo, affinché ciascuno riceva la retribuzione delle cose fatte nel corpo in base a ciò che ha fatto, sia in bene che in male. |
| 11 | Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. | Connaissant donc combien le Seigneur doit être craint, nous sollicitons les hommes à la foi, et nous sommes manifestés à Dieu, et je m'attends aussi que nous sommes manifestés en vos consciences. | Conoscendo dunque il timore del Signore, persuadiamo gli uomini, e siamo conosciuti da Dio, or io spero di essere conosciuto anche dalle vostre coscienze. |
| 12 | For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart. | Car nous ne nous recommandons pas de nouveau à vous, mais nous vous donnons occasion de vous glorifier de nous; afin que vous ayez de quoi répondre à ceux qui se glorifient de l'apparence, et non pas du coeur. | Perché non ci raccomandiamo di nuovo a voi, ma vi diamo l'opportunità di essere orgogliosi di noi, affinché possiate rispondere a coloro che si gloriano nell'apparenza e non nel cuore. |
