2	Et moi, j'ai bâti une maison qui sera ta demeure, un lieu où tu résideras éternellement !	But I have built an house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy dwelling for ever.	Et moi j'ai bâti une maison qui sera votre demeure, et un lieu pour que vous y résidiez à jamais."	But I have built thee a house of habitation, and a place for thee to dwell in for ever.
3	Le roi tourna son visage, et bénit toute l'assemblée d'Israël ; et toute l'assemblée d'Israël était debout.	And the king turned his face, and blessed the whole congregation of Israel: and all the congregation of Israel stood. 4	Et il dit : Béni soit l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, qui a parlé de sa bouche à David, mon père, et qui accomplit par sa puissance ce qu'il avait déclaré en disant :	And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who hath with his hands fulfilled that which he spake with his mouth to my father David, saying,	Et il dit : "Béni soit Yahweh, Dieu d'Israël, qui a parlé par sa bouche à David, mon père, et qui a accompli par ses mains ce qu'il avait déclaré, en disant :	And he said, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, who spake with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hands fulfilled it, saying,
5	Depuis le jour où j'ai fait sortir mon peuple du pays d'Égypte, je n'ai point choisi de ville parmi toutes les tribus d'Israël pour qu'il y fût bâti une maison où résidât mon nom, et je n'ai point choisi d'homme pour qu'il fût chef de mon peuple d'Israël ;	Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build an house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be a ruler over my people Israel:	Depuis le jour où j'ai fait sortir du pays d'Égypte mon peuple, je n'ai pas choisi de ville, parmi toutes les tribus d'Israël, pour qu'on y bâtisse une maison où résider mon nom, et je n'ai pas choisi d'homme pour qu'il fût chef de mon peuple d'Israël ;	Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be prince over my people Israel:

7	David, mon père, avait l'intention de bâtir une maison au nom de l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël.	Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel. 8	Et l'Éternel dit à David, mon père : Puisque tu as eu l'intention de bâtir une maison à mon nom, tu as bien fait d'avoir eu cette intention.	But the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:	mais Yahweh dit à David, mon père : Puisque tu as l'intention de bâtir une maison à mon nom, tu as bien fait d'avoir eu cette intention.	But Jehovah said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thy heart to build a house for my name, thou didst well that it was in thy heart:
9	Seulement, ce ne sera pas toi qui bâtiras la maison ; mais ce sera ton fils, sorti de tes entrailles, qui bâtira la maison à mon nom.	Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house; but thy son which shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.	Seulement ce ne sera pas toi qui bâtiras la maison; ce sera ton fils, sorti de tes entrailles, qui bâtira la maison à mon nom.	nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.
10	L'Éternel a accompli la parole qu'il avait prononcée. Je me suis élevé à la place de David, mon père, et je me suis assis sur le trône d'Israël, comme l'avait annoncé l'Éternel, et j'ai bâti la maison au nom de l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël.	The LORD therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and am set on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.	Yahweh a accompli la parole qu'il avait prononcée : je me suis élevé à la place de David, mon père, et je me suis assis sur le trône d'Israël, comme Yahweh l'avait dit, et j'ai bâti la maison de Yahweh, Dieu d'Israël.	And Jehovah hath performed his word that he spake; for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Jehovah promised, and have built the house for the name of Jehovah, the God of Israel.
11	J'y ai placé l'arche où est l'alliance de l'Éternel, l'alliance qu'il a faite avec les enfants d'Israël.	And in it have I put the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, that he made with the children of Israel.	Et j'y ai placé l'arche où se trouva l'alliance de Yahweh, alliance qu'il a faite avec les enfants d'Israël."	And there have I set the ark, wherein is the covenant of Jehovah, which he made with the children of Israel.
12	Salomon se plaça devant l'autel de l'Éternel, en face de toute l'assemblée d'Israël, et il étendit ses mains.	And he stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands:	Salomon se plaça devant l'autel de Yahweh, en face de toute l'assemblée d'Israël, et il étendit ses mains. 13	Car Salomon avait fait une tribune d'airain, et l'avait mise au milieu du parvis ; elle était longue de cinq coudées, large de cinq coudées, et haute de trois coudées ; il s'y plaça, se mit à genoux en face de toute l'assemblée d'Israël, et étendit ses mains vers le ciel. Et il dit :	For Solomon had made a brasen scaffold of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven.	Car Salomon avait fait une tribune d'airain et l'avait dressée au milieu du parvis; sa longueur était de cinq coudées, sa largeur de cinq coudées, et sa hauteur de trois coudées. Il y monta et, s'étant mis à genoux en face de toute l'assemblée d'Israël, il étendit ses mains vers le ciel, et dit :	(for Solomon had made a brazen scaffold, five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court; and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the assembly of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;)
14	O Éternel, Dieu d'Israël ! Il n'y a point de Dieu semblable à toi, dans les cieux et sur la terre : tu gardes l'alliance et la miséricorde envers tes serviteurs qui marchent en ta présence de tout leur coeur !	And said, O LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:	"Yahweh, Dieu d'Israël, il n'y a point de Dieu semblable à vous dans les cieux et sur la terre; à vous, qui gardez l'alliance et la miséricorde envers vos serviteurs qui marchent de tout leur coeur en votre présence;	and he said, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven, or on earth; who keepest covenant and lovingkindness with thy servants, that walk before thee with all their heart;
15	Ainsi tu as tenu parole à ton serviteur David, mon père ; et ce que tu as déclaré de ta bouche, tu l'accomplis en ce jour par ta puissance.	Thou which hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him; and spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.	comme vous avez gardé à votre serviteur David, mon père, ce que vous lui avez dit; ce que vous avez déclaré de votre bouche, vous l'avez accompli par votre main, comme on le voit en ce jour.	who hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou didst promise him: yea, thou spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thy hand, as it is this day.
16	Maintenant, Éternel, Dieu d'Israël, observe la promesse que tu as faite à David, mon père, en disant : Tu ne manqueras jamais devant moi d'un successeur assis sur le trône d'Israël, pourvu que tes fils prennent garde à leur voie et qu'ils marchent dans ma loi comme tu as marché en ma présence.	Now therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; yet so that thy children take heed to their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me.	Maintenant, Yahweh, Dieu d'Israël, observez, en faveur de votre serviteur David, mon père, ce que vous lui avez dit, en ces termes : "Il ne te manquera jamais devant moi un descendant qui siège sur le trône d'Israël, pourvu que tes fils prennent garde à leur voie, en marchant dans ma loi toi comme tu as marché devant moi.	Now therefore, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only thy children take heed to their way, to walk in my law as thou hast walked before me.
17	Qu'elle s'accomplisse donc, Éternel, Dieu d'Israël, la promesse que tu as faite à ton serviteur David !	Now then, O LORD God of Israel, let thy word be verified, which thou hast spoken unto thy servant David.	Et maintenant, Yahweh, Dieu d'Israël, qu'elle s'accomplisse la parole que vous avez dite à votre serviteur David !	Now therefore, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, let thy word be verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David.
18	Mais quoi ! Dieu habiterait-il véritablement avec l'homme sur la terre ? Voici, les cieux et les cieux des cieux ne peuvent te contenir : combien moins cette maison que j'ai bâtie !	But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!	Mais est-il donc vrai que Dieu habite avec l'homme sur la terre ? Voici que le ciel et le ciel des cieux ne peuvent vous contenir : combien moins cette maison que j'ai bâtie ?	But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have builded!
19	Toutefois, Éternel mon Dieu, sois attentif à la prière de ton serviteur et à sa supplication ; écoute le cri et la prière que t'adresse ton serviteur.	Have respect therefore to the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee:	Cependant, Yahweh, mon Dieu, soyez attentif à la prière de votre serviteur et à sa supplication, en écoutant le cri joyeux et la prière que votre serviteur prononce devant vous,	Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O Jehovah my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee;
20	Que tes yeux soient jour et nuit ouverts sur cette maison, sur le lieu dont tu as dit que là serait ton nom ! Écoute la prière que ton serviteur fait en ce lieu.	That thine eyes may be open upon this house day and night, upon the place whereof thou hast said that thou wouldest put thy name there; to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant prayeth toward this place.	en tenant vos yeux ouverts jour et nuit sur cette maison, sur le lieu dont vous avec dit que vous mettriez là votre nom, en écoutant la prière que votre serviteur fait en ce lieu.	that thine eyes may be open toward this house day and night, even toward the place whereof thou hast said that thou wouldest put thy name there; to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall pray toward this place.
21	Daigne exaucer les supplications de ton serviteur et de ton peuple d'Israël, lorsqu'ils prieront en ce lieu ! Exauce du lieu de ta demeure, des cieux, exauce et pardonne !	Hearken therefore unto the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, which they shall make toward this place: hear thou from thy dwelling place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest, forgive.	Ecoutez les supplications de votre serviteur et de votre peuple d'Israël, lorsqu'ils prieront en ce lieu. Ecoutez du lieu de votre demeure, du ciel, écoutez et pardonnez.	And hearken thou to the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: yea, hear thou from thy dwelling-place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest forgive.
22	Si quelqu'un pèche contre son prochain et qu'on lui impose un serment pour le faire jurer, et s'il vient jurer devant ton autel, dans cette maison,	If a man sin against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to make him swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house;	si quelqu'un pèche contre son prochain, et qu'on lui fasse prêter un serment, s'il vient jurer devant votre autel, dans cette maison,	If a man sin against his neighbor, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and he come [and] swear before thine altar in this house;
23	écoute-le des cieux, agis, et juge tes serviteurs ; condamne le coupable, et fais retomber sa conduite sur sa tête, rends justice à l'innocent, et traite-le selon son innocence !	Then hear thou from heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, by requiting the wicked, by recompensing his way upon his own head; and by justifying the righteous, by giving him according to his righteousness.	écoutez-le du ciel, agissez, et jugez vos serviteurs, condamnant le coupable et faisant retomber sa conduite sur sa tête, déclarant juste l'innocent, et lui rendant selon son innocence.	then hear thou from heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, requiting the wicked, to bring his way upon his own head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.
24	Quand ton peuple d'Israël sera battu par l'ennemi, pour avoir péché contre toi ; s'ils reviennent à toi et rendent gloire à ton nom, s'ils t'adressent des prières et des supplications dans cette maison,	And if thy people Israel be put to the worse before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee; and shall return and confess thy name, and pray and make supplication before thee in this house;	Quand votre peuple d'Israël sera battu devant l'ennemi, parce qu'il aura péché contre vous, s'ils reviennent et rendent gloire à votre nom, s'ils vous adressent des prières et des supplications dans cette maison,	And if thy people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee, and shall turn again and confess thy name, and pray and make supplication before thee in this house;
25	exauce-les des cieux, pardonne le péché de ton peuple d'Israël, et ramène-les dans le pays que tu as donné à eux et à leurs pères !	Then hear thou from the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers.	écoutez-les du ciel, pardonnez le péché de votre peuple d'Israël, et ramenez-les dans le pays que vous leur avez donné, à eux et à leurs pères.	then hear thou from heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers.
26	Quand le ciel sera fermé et qu'il n'y aura point de pluie, à cause de leurs péchés contre toi ; s'ils prient dans ce lieu et rendent gloire à ton nom, et s'ils se détournent de leurs péchés, parce que tu les auras châtiés ;	When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them;	Quand le ciel sera fermé et qu'il n'y aura pas de pluie, parce qu'ils auront péché contre vous, s'ils prient dans ce lieu et rendent gloire à votre nom, et s'ils se détournent de leurs péchés, parce que vous les aurez affligés,	When the heavens are shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them:
27	exauce-les des cieux, pardonne le péché de tes serviteurs et de ton peuple d'Israël, à qui tu enseigneras la bonne voie dans laquelle ils doivent marcher, et fais venir la pluie sur la terre que tu as donnée pour héritage à ton peuple !	Then hear thou from heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou hast taught them the good way, wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people for an inheritance.	écoutez-les du ciel, pardonnez les péchés de vos serviteurs et de votre peuple d'Israël, en leur enseignant la bonne voie dans laquelle ils doivent marcher, et faites tomber la pluie sur la terre que vous avez donnée pour héritage à votre peuple.	then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou teachest them the good way wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.
28	Quand la famine, la peste, la rouille et la nielle, les sauterelles d'une espèce ou d'une autre, seront dans le pays, quand l'ennemi assiégera ton peuple dans son pays, dans ses portes, quand il y aura des fléaux ou des maladies quelconques ;	If there be dearth in the land, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting, or mildew, locusts, or caterpillers; if their enemies besiege them in the cities of their land; whatsoever sore or whatsoever sickness there be:	Quand la famine sera dans le pays, quand il y aura la peste, quand il y aura la rouille, la nielle, la sauterelle, le hasil; quand l'ennemi assiégera votre peuple dans le pays, dans ses portes, quand il y aura fléau et maladie quelconques,	If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting or mildew, locust or caterpillar; if their enemies besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague or whatsoever sickness there be;
29	si un homme, si tout ton peuple d'Israël fait entendre des prières et des supplications, et que chacun reconnaisse sa plaie et sa douleur et étende les mains vers cette maison,	Then what prayer or what supplication soever shall be made of any man, or of all thy people Israel, when every one shall know his own sore and his own grief, and shall spread forth his hands in this house:	si un homme, si tout votre peuple d'Israël fait entendre des prières et des supplications, et que chacun, reconnaissant sa plaie et sa douleur, étende ses mains vers cette maison,	what prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, who shall know every man his own plague and his own sorrow, and shall spread forth his hands toward this house:
30	exauce-le des cieux, du lieu de ta demeure, et pardonne ; rends à chacun selon ses voies, toi qui connais le coeur de chacun, car seul tu connais le coeur des enfants des hommes,	Then hear thou from heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and render unto every man according unto all his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou only knowest the hearts of the children of men:)	écoutez-le du ciel, du lieu de votre demeure, et pardonnez; rendez à chacun selon toutes ses voies, vous qui connaissez son coeur, -- car seul vous connaissez les coeurs des enfants des hommes,	then hear thou from heaven thy dwelling-place and forgive, and render unto every man according to all his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of the children of men;)
31	et ils te craindront pour marcher dans tes voies tout le temps qu'ils vivront dans le pays que tu as donné à nos pères !	That they may fear thee, to walk in thy ways, so long as they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.	-- afin qu'ils vous craignent en marchant dans vos voies, tous les jours qu'ils vivront sur la face du pays que vous avez donné à leurs pères.	that they may fear thee, to walk in thy ways, so long as they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.
32	Quand l'étranger, qui n'est pas de ton peuple d'Israël, viendra d'un pays lointain, à cause de ton grand nom, de ta main forte et de ton bras étendu, quand il viendra prier dans cette maison,	Moreover concerning the stranger, which is not of thy people Israel, but is come from a far country for thy great name's sake, and thy mighty hand, and thy stretched out arm; if they come and pray in this house;	Quant à l'étranger, qui n'est pas de votre peuple d'Israël, mais qui viendra d'un pays lointain à cause de votre grand nom, de votre main forte et de votre bras étendu, quand il viendra prier dans cette maison,	Moreover concerning the foreigner, that is not of thy people Israel, when he shall come from a far country for thy great name`s sake, and thy mighty hand, and thine outstretched arm; when they shall come and pray toward this house:
33	exauce-le des cieux, du lieu de ta demeure, et accorde à cet étranger tout ce qu'il te demandera, afin que tous les peuples de la terre connaissent ton nom pour te craindre, comme ton peuple d'Israël, et sachent que ton nom est invoqué sur cette maison que j'ai bâtie !	Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; that all people of the earth may know thy name, and fear thee, as doth thy people Israel, and may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.	écoutez-le du ciel, du lieu de votre demeure, et agissez selon tout ce que vous demandera l'étranger, afin que tous les peuples de la terre connaissent votre nom, pour vous craindre, comme votre peuple d'Israël, et qu'ils sachent que votre nom est appelé sur cette maison que j'ai bâtie.	then hear thou from heaven, even from thy dwelling-place, and do according to all that the foreigner calleth to thee for; that all the peoples of the earth may know thy name, and fear thee, as doth thy people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.
34	Quand ton peuple sortira pour combattre ses ennemis, en suivant la voie que tu lui auras prescrite ; s'ils t'adressent des prières, les regards tournés vers cette ville que tu as choisie et vers la maison que j'ai bâtie en ton nom,	If thy people go out to war against their enemies by the way that thou shalt send them, and they pray unto thee toward this city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name;	Quand votre peuple sortira pour combattre son ennemi, en suivant la voie dans laquelle vous les aurez envoyés, s'ils vous adressent des prières, le visage tourné vers cette ville que vous avez choisie et vers la maison que j'ai bâtie à votre nom, écoutez du ciel leur prière et leur supplication,	If thy people go out to battle against their enemies, by whatsoever way thou shalt send them, and they pray unto thee toward this city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name;
35	exauce des cieux leurs prières et leurs supplications, et fais-leur droit !	Then hear thou from the heavens their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.	et rendez-leur justice.	then hear thou from heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.
36	Quand ils pécheront contre toi, car il n'y a point d'homme qui ne pèche, quand tu seras irrité contre eux et que tu les livreras à l'ennemi, qui les emmènera captifs dans un pays lointain ou rapproché ;	If they sin against thee, (for there is no man which sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away captives unto a land far off or near;	Quand ils pécheront contre vous -- car il n'y a pas d'homme qui ne pèche, -- et quand, irrité contre eux, vous les livrerez à l'ennemi, et que leur vainqueur les emmènera captifs dans un pays lointain ou rapproché,	If they sin against thee (for there is no man that sinneth not), and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captive unto a land far off or near;
37	s'ils rentrent en eux-mêmes dans le pays où ils seront captifs, s'ils reviennent à toi et t'adressent des supplications dans le pays de leur captivité, et qu'ils disent : Nous avons péché, nous avons commis des iniquités, nous avons fait le mal !	Yet if they bethink themselves in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn and pray unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done amiss, and have dealt wickedly;	s'ils rentrent en eux-mêmes dans le pays où ils seront captifs, s'ils reviennent à vous et vous adressent des supplications dans le pays de leur captivité, en disant : Nous avons péché, nous avons fait l'iniquité, nous avons commis le crime;	yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn again, and make supplication unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done perversely, and have dealt wickedly;
38	s'ils reviennent à toi de tout leur coeur et de toute leur âme, dans le pays de leur captivité où ils ont été emmenés captifs, s'ils t'adressent des prières, les regards tournés vers leur pays que tu as donné à leurs pères, vers la ville que tu as choisie et vers la maison que j'ai bâtie à ton nom,	If they return to thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captives, and pray toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, and toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for thy name:	s'ils reviennent à vous de tout leur coeur et de toute leur âme, dans le pays de leur captivité où on les aura emmenés captifs, s'ils vous adressent des prières le visage tourné vers le pays que vous avez donné à leurs pères, vers la ville que vous avez choisie et vers la maison que j'ai bâtie à votre nom,	if they return unto thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captive, and pray toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, and the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for thy name:
39	exauce des cieux, du lieu de ta demeure, leurs prières et leurs supplications, et fais-leur droit ; pardonne à ton peuple ses péchés contre toi !	Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people which have sinned against thee.	écoutez du ciel, du lieu de votre demeure, leur prière et leur supplication, et faites-leur droit, et pardonnez à votre peuple ses transgressions contre vous.	then hear thou from heaven, even from thy dwelling-place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people who have sinned against thee.
