| 1 | Amaziah was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem. | Amatsia commença à régner étant âgé de vingt cinq ans, et il régna vingt neuf ans à Jérusalem. | 3 | Now it came to pass, when the kingdom was established to him, that he slew his servants that had killed the king his father. | Or il arriva qu'après qu'il fut affermi dans son Royaume, il fit mourir ses serviteurs qui avaient tué le Roi son père. | Ora, quando ebbe consolidato il suo regno, egli uccise i suoi servi che avevano assassinato il re, suo padre. |

| 5 | Moreover Amaziah gathered Judah together, and made them captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, according to the houses of their fathers, throughout all Judah and Benjamin: and he numbered them from twenty years old and above, and found them three hundred thousand choice men, able to go forth to war, that could handle spear and shield. | Puis Amatsia assembla ceux de Juda; et les établit selon les familles des pères, selon les capitaines de milliers et de centaines, par tout Juda et Benjamin; et il en fit le dénombrement depuis l'âge de vingt ans, et au dessus; et il s'en trouva trois cent mille d'élite, marchant en bataille, et portant la javeline et le bouclier. | Inoltre Amatsiah radunò quelli di Giuda e costituì su di loro capi di migliaia e capi di centinaia, secondo le loro case paterne, per tutto Giuda e Beniamino, fece quindi il censimento di quelli dai vent'anni in su e trovò che erano trecentomila uomini scelti, atti alla guerra e capaci di maneggiare la lancia e lo scudo. |

| 7 | But there came a man of God to him, saying, O king, let not the army of Israel go with thee; for the LORD is not with Israel, to wit, with all the children of Ephraim. | Mais un homme de Dieu vint à lui, et lui dit: Ô Roi! que l'armée d'Israël ne marche point avec toi, car l'Eternel n'est point avec Israël; ils sont tous enfants d'Ephraïm. | Ma un uomo di DIO venne a lui e gli disse: O re, l'esercito d'Israele non venga con te, perché l'Eterno non è con Israele, né con alcuno dei figli di Efraim! |
| 8 | But if thou wilt go, do it; be strong for the battle: God shall make thee fall before the enemy: for God hath power to help, and to cast down. | Sinon, va, fais, fortifie toi pour la bataille; mais Dieu te fera tomber devant l'ennemi; car Dieu a la puissance d'aider et de faire tomber. | Ma se vuoi andare, va' pure; anche se sarai valoroso in battaglia, DIO ti farà cadere davanti al nemico, perché DIO ha il potere di soccorrere e di far cadere. |
| 9 | And Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? And the man of God answered, The LORD is able to give thee much more than this. | Et Amatsia répondit à l'homme de Dieu: Mais que deviendront les cent talents que j'ai donnés aux troupes d'Israël? et l'homme de Dieu dit: L'Eternel en a pour t'en donner beaucoup plus. | Amatsiah allora disse all'uomo di DIO: Ma che farò dei cento talenti che ho dato all'esercito d'Israele?. L'uomo di DIO rispose: L'Eterno può darti molto più di questo. |
| 10 | Then Amaziah separated them, to wit, the army that was come to him out of Ephraim, to go home again: wherefore their anger was greatly kindled against Judah, and they returned home in great anger. | Ainsi Amatsia sépara les troupes qui lui étaient venues d'Ephraïm, afin qu'elles retournassent en leur lieu; et leur colère s'enflamma fort contre Juda, et ils s'en retournèrent en leur lieu avec une grande ardeur de colère. | Allora Amatsiah congedò l'esercito che era venuto a lui da Efraim, perché tornasse a casa sua; ma la loro ira si accese grandemente contro Giuda e tornarono a casa fortemente adirati. |
| 11 | And Amaziah strengthened himself, and led forth his people, and went to the valley of salt, and smote of the children of Seir ten thousand. | Alors Amatsia ayant pris courage conduisit son peuple, et s'en alla en la vallée du sel; où il battit dix mille hommes des enfants de Séhir. | Amatsiah quindi, fattosi animo, si mise alla testa del suo popolo, andò nella valle del Sale e uccise diecimila uomini di Seir. |
| 12 | And other ten thousand left alive did the children of Judah carry away captive, and brought them unto the top of the rock, and cast them down from the top of the rock, that they all were broken in pieces. | Et les enfants de Juda prirent dix mille hommes vifs, et les ayant amenés sur le sommet d'une roche, ils les jetèrent du haut de la roche, de sorte qu'ils moururent tous. | I figli di Giuda ne catturarono vivi altri diecimila e, condottili in cima alla rupe, li precipitarono giù dall'alto della rupe; e tutti si sfracellarono. |
| 13 | But the soldiers of the army which Amaziah sent back, that they should not go with him to battle, fell upon the cities of Judah, from Samaria even unto Bethhoron, and smote three thousand of them, and took much spoil. | Mais les troupes qu'Amatsia avait renvoyées, afin qu'elles ne vinssent point avec lui à la guerre, se jetèrent sur les villes de Juda, depuis Samarie jusqu'à Béthoron, et tuèrent trois mille hommes, et emportèrent un gros butin. | Ma gli uomini dell'esercito, che Amatsiah aveva licenziato perché non andassero con lui a combattere, piombarono sulle città di Giuda, da Samaria, fino a Beth-Horon, uccidendo tremila abitanti e portando via un grande bottino. |
| 14 | Now it came to pass, after that Amaziah was come from the slaughter of the Edomites, that he brought the gods of the children of Seir, and set them up to be his gods, and bowed down himself before them, and burned incense unto them. | Or il arriva qu'Amatsia étant revenu de la défaite des Iduméens, et ayant apporté les dieux des enfants de Séhir, il se les établit pour dieux; il se prosterna devant eux, et leur fit des encensements. | Dopo essere tornato dalla strage degli Edomiti, Amatsiah, si fece portare gli dèi dei figli di Seir, li stabilì come suoi dèi, si prostrò davanti a loro e offerse loro incenso. |
| 15 | Wherefore the anger of the LORD was kindled against Amaziah, and he sent unto him a prophet, which said unto him, Why hast thou sought after the gods of the people, which could not deliver their own people out of thine hand? | Et la colère de l'Eternel s'enflamma contre Amatsia, et il envoya vers lui un Prophète qui lui dit: Pourquoi as tu recherché les dieux d'un peuple qui n'ont point délivré leur peuple de ta main? | Per questo l'ira dell'Eterno si accese contro Amatsiah e gli mandò un profeta per dirgli: Perché hai cercato gli dèi di questo popolo, che non sono stati capaci di liberare il loro popolo dalla tua mano?. |
| 16 | And it came to pass, as he talked with him, that the king said unto him, Art thou made of the king's counsel? forbear; why shouldest thou be smitten? Then the prophet forbare, and said, I know that God hath determined to destroy thee, because thou hast done this, and hast not hearkened unto my counsel. | Et comme il parlait au Roi, le Roi lui dit: T'a t on établi conseiller du Roi? arrête toi; pourquoi te ferais tu tuer? et le Prophète s'arrêta, et lui dit: Je sais très bien que Dieu a délibéré de te détruire, parce que tu as fait cela, et que tu n'as point obéi à mon conseil. | Mentre stava ancora parlando a lui il re gli disse Ti abbiamo forse fatto consigliere del re? Smettila! Perché vorresti essere ucciso?. Allora il profeta smise, ma disse: Io so che DIO ha deciso di distruggerti, perché hai fatto questo e non hai dato ascolto al mio consiglio. |
| 17 | Then Amaziah king of Judah took advice, and sent to Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us see one another in the face. | Et Amatsia Roi de Juda, ayant tenu conseil, envoya vers Joas fils de Jéhoachaz, fils de Jéhu, Roi d'Israël, pour lui dire: Viens, et que nous nous voyions l'un l'autre. | Allora Amatsiah, re di Giuda, dopo essersi consigliato, mandò a dire a Joas, figlio di Jehoahaz, figlio di Jehu, re d'Israele: Vieni, affrontiamoci l'un l'altro in battaglia. |
| 18 | And Joash king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife: and there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and trode down the thistle. | Et Joas Roi d'Israël envoya dire à Amatsia Roi de Juda: L'épine qui est au Liban a envoyé dire au cèdre qui est au Liban: Donne ta fille pour femme à mon fils; mais les bêtes sauvages qui sont au Liban, ont passé, et ont foulé l'épine. | Ma Joas, re d'Israele, mandò a dire ad Amatsiah, re di Giuda: La spina del Libano mandò a dire al cedro del Libano: "Da' tua figlia in moglie a mio figlio". | 19 | Thou sayest, Lo, thou hast smitten the Edomites; and thine heart lifteth thee up to boast: abide now at home; why shouldest thou meddle to thine hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee? | Tu as dit: Voici, j'ai battu Edom, et ton coeur s'est élevé pour en tirer vanité. Demeure maintenant dans ta maison; pourquoi t'engagerais tu dans un mal dans lequel tu tomberais, toi et Juda avec toi? | Tu hai detto: "Ecco, ho sconfitto Edom, e il tuo cuore ti ha inorgoglito fino a farti vantare. Resta a casa tua. Perché vorresti provocare una sciagura, mandando in rovina te e Giuda con te?. |
| 20 | But Amaziah would not hear; for it came of God, that he might deliver them into the hand of their enemies, because they sought after the gods of Edom. | Mais Amatsia ne l'écouta point; car cela venait de Dieu, afin de les livrer entre les mains de Joas, parce qu'ils avaient recherché les dieux d'Edom. | Amatsiah però non gli diede ascolto; la cosa infatti veniva da DIO affinché fossero dati in mano del nemico, perché avevano cercato gli dèi di Edom. |
| 21 | So Joash the king of Israel went up; and they saw one another in the face, both he and Amaziah king of Judah, at Bethshemesh, which belongeth to Judah. | Ainsi Joas Roi d'Israël monta, et ils se virent l'un l'autre, lui et Amatsia Roi de Juda, à Beth sémes, qui est de Juda. | Così Joas, re d'Israele, salì contro Giuda; e lui e Amatsiah, re di Giuda, si affrontarono l'un l'altro a Beth-Scemesh che apparteneva a Giuda. |

| 23 | And Joash the king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, at Bethshemesh, and brought him to Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits. | Et Joas Roi d'Israël prit Amatsia Roi de Juda, fils de Joas, fils de Jéhoachaz, à Beth sémes; et l'amena à Jérusalem, et il fit une brèche de quatre cents coudées à la muraille de Jérusalem, depuis la porte d'Ephraïm, jusqu'à la porte du coin. | Joas, re d'Israele, a Beth-Scemesh catturò Amatsiah, re di Giuda, figlio di Joas, figlio di Jehoahaz; lo condusse a Gerusalemme e fece una breccia di quattrocento cubiti, nelle mura di Gerusalemme, dalla porta di Efraim alla porta dell'Angolo. |
| 24 | And he took all the gold and the silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of God with Obededom, and the treasures of the king's house, the hostages also, and returned to Samaria. | Et ayant pris tout l'or et l'argent, et tous les vaisseaux qui furent trouvés dans la maison de Dieu sous la direction d'Hobed Edom, avec les trésors de la Maison Royale, et des gens pour otages, il s'en retourna à Samarie. | Prese tutto l'oro e l'argento e tutti gli oggetti che si trovavano nella casa di DIO, affidati a Obed-Edom, i tesori del palazzo reale e alcuni ostaggi, e poi ritornò in Samaria. |
| 25 | And Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel fifteen years. | Et Amatsia fils de Joas Roi de Juda vécut quinze ans, après que Joas fils de Jéhoachaz Roi d'Israël fut mort. | Amatsiah, figlio di Joas, re di Giuda, visse ancora quindici anni dopo la morte di Joas, figlio di Jehoahaz, re d'Israele. |
| 26 | Now the rest of the acts of Amaziah, first and last, behold, are they not written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel? | Le reste des faits d'Amatsia, tant les premiers que les derniers, voilà; n'est il pas écrit au Livre des Rois de Juda et d'Israël? | Il resto delle gesta di Amatsiah, dalle prime alle ultime, non si trova forse scritto nel libro dei re di Giuda e d'Israele? |
| 27 | Now after the time that Amaziah did turn away from following the LORD they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem; and he fled to Lachish: but they sent to Lachish after him, and slew him there. | Or depuis le temps qu'Amatsia se fut détourné de l'Eternel, on fit une conspiration contre lui à Jérusalem, et il s'enfuit à Lakis; mais on envoya après lui à Lakis, et on le tua là. | Dopo che Amatsiah si era allontanato dall'Eterno, fu ordita contro di lui una congiura a Gerusalemme; egli fuggì a Lakish, ma lo fecero inseguire fino a Lakish e là lo uccisero. |
