| 1 | Joash was seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. | 5 | And he gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, Go out unto the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that ye hasten the matter. | 6 | And the king called for Jehoiada the chief, and said unto him, Why hast thou not required of the Levites to bring in out of Judah and out of Jerusalem the collection, according to the commandment of Moses the servant of the LORD, and of the congregation of Israel, for the tabernacle of witness? | Et le Roi appela Jéhojadah le principal Sacrificateur, et lui dit: Pourquoi n'as tu pas fait en sorte que les Lévites apportassent de Juda, et de Jérusalem, et de tout Israël, le tribut ordonné par Moïse serviteur de l'Eternel, pour le Tabernacle du Témoignage? | Allora il re chiamò il sommo sacerdote Jehoiada e gli disse: Perché non hai richiesto dai Leviti che portassero da Giuda e da Gerusalemme la tassa fissata da Mosè, servo dell'Eterno, e dall'assemblea d'Israele per la tenda della testimonianza?. |
| 7 | For the sons of Athaliah, that wicked woman, had broken up the house of God; and also all the dedicated things of the house of the LORD did they bestow upon Baalim. | Car la méchante Hathalie et ses enfants avaient dépouillé la maison de Dieu, et ils avaient même approprié aux Bahalins toutes les choses consacrées à la maison de l'Eternel. | Infatti i figli di Athaliah, quella donna malvagia, avevano saccheggiato la casa di DIO e avevano persino usato tutte le cose consacrate della casa dell'Eterno per i Baal. |

| 9 | And they made a proclamation through Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in to the LORD the collection that Moses the servant of God laid upon Israel in the wilderness. | Puis on publia dans Juda et dans Jérusalem, qu'on apportât à l'Eternel l'impôt que Moïse serviteur de Dieu avait mis dans le désert sur Israël. | Poi fecero un proclama in Giuda e in Gerusalemme perché si portasse all'Eterno la tassa che Mosè servo di DIO, aveva imposto a Israele nel deserto. |
| 10 | And all the princes and all the people rejoiced, and brought in, and cast into the chest, until they had made an end. | Et tous les principaux et tout le peuple s'en réjouirent; et ils apportèrent l'argent, et le jetèrent dans le coffre, jusqu'à ce qu'on eût achevé de réparer le Temple. | Tutti i capi e tutto il popolo si rallegrarono e portarono il denaro, gettandolo nella cassa fino a riempirla. |
| 11 | Now it came to pass, that at what time the chest was brought unto the king's office by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that there was much money, the king's scribe and the high priest's officer came and emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it to his place again. Thus they did day by day, and gathered money in abundance. | Or quand les Lévites emportaient le coffre suivant l'ordre du Roi, ce qu'on faisait dès qu'on voyait qu'il y avait beaucoup d'argent; le Secrétaire du Roi, et le Commis du principal Sacrificateur venaient, et vidaient le coffre, puis ils le reportaient, et le remettaient en sa place Ils faisaient ainsi tous les jours; et on amassa quantité d'argent. | Quando la cassa veniva dai Leviti portata all'ispettore del re, perché vedevano che c'era molto denaro, il segretario del re e l'incaricato del sommo sacerdote venivano a vuotare la cassa; quindi la prendevano e la riportavano al suo posto. Facevano così ogni giorno; così raccolsero una grande quantità di denaro. |
| 12 | And the king and Jehoiada gave it to such as did the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and hired masons and carpenters to repair the house of the LORD, and also such as wrought iron and brass to mend the house of the LORD. | Et le Roi et Jéhojadah le distribuaient à ceux qui avaient la charge de l'ouvrage du service de la maison de l'Eternel, lesquels louaient des tailleurs de pierres et des charpentiers pour refaire la maison de l'Eternel, et des ouvriers travaillant en fer et en airain pour réparer la maison de l'Eternel. | Poi il re e Jehoiada lo davano a quelli che facevano il lavoro di servizio della casa dell'Eterno, ed essi pagavano gli scalpellini e i falegnami per restaurare la casa dell'Eterno, e anche i lavoratori del ferro e del bronzo per riparare la casa dell'Eterno. |
| 13 | So the workmen wrought, and the work was perfected by them, and they set the house of God in his state, and strengthened it. | Ceux donc qui avaient la charge de l'ouvrage travaillèrent, et il fut entièrement achevé par leur moyen, de sorte qu'ils rétablirent la maison de Dieu en son état, et l'affermirent. | Così i lavoratori eseguirono accuratamente i lavori, e per mezzo di loro le riparazioni progredirono, essi riportarono la casa di DIO alle sue condizioni originali e la consolidarono. |
| 14 | And when they had finished it, they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoiada, whereof were made vessels for the house of the LORD, even vessels to minister, and to offer withal, and spoons, and vessels of gold and silver. And they offered burnt offerings in the house of the LORD continually all the days of Jehoiada. | Et dès qu'ils eurent achevé, ils apportèrent devant le Roi et devant Jéhojadah le reste de l'argent, dont il fit faire des ustensiles pour la maison de l'Eternel; savoir des ustensiles pour le service et pour les oblations, et des tasses et d'autres ustensiles d'or et d'argent; et ils offrirent continuellement des holocaustes dans la maison de l'Eternel, durant tout le temps de Jéhojadah. | Quando ebbero finito, portarono davanti al re e davanti a Jehoiada il denaro rimasto, e con esso fecero utensili per la casa dell'Eterno: utensili per il servizio e per gli olocausti, coppe e altri utensili d'oro e d'argento. Finché visse Jehoiada, si offrirono continuamente olocausti nella casa dell'Eterno. |
| 15 | But Jehoiada waxed old, and was full of days when he died; an hundred and thirty years old was he when he died. | Or Jéhojadah étant devenu vieux et rassasié de jours, mourut. | 17 | Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and made obeisance to the king. | 20 | And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of the LORD, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken the LORD, he hath also forsaken you. | Et même l'Esprit de Dieu revêtit Zacharie fils de Jéhojadah le Sacrificateur, de sorte qu'il se tint debout au dessus du peuple, et leur dit: Dieu a dit ainsi: Pourquoi transgressez vous les commandements de l'Eternel? | 21 | And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of the LORD. | Et ils se liguèrent contre lui, et l'assommèrent de pierres, par le commandement du Roi, au parvis de la maison de l'Eternel; | Ma quelli fecero una congiura contro di lui e per ordine del re lo lapidarono nel cortile della casa dell'Eterno. |
| 22 | Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, The LORD look upon it, and require it. | De sorte que le Roi Joas ne se souvint point de la gratuité dont Jéhojadah, père de Zacharie, avait usé envers lui; mais il tua son fils, qui en mourant dit: Que l'Eternel le voie, et le redemande! | Così il re Joas non si ricordò della bontà che Jehoiada, padre di Zaccaria, aveva usato verso di lui e ne uccise il figlio, che morendo disse: L'Eterno veda e ne chieda conto!. |
| 23 | And it came to pass at the end of the year, that the host of Syria came up against him: and they came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the princes of the people from among the people, and sent all the spoil of them unto the king of Damascus. | Et il arriva qu'au bout d'un an l'armée de Syrie monta contre lui, et vint en Juda et à Jérusalem, et les Syriens détruisirent d'entre le peuple tous les principaux du peuple, et envoyèrent au Roi à Damas tout leur butin. | Così avvenne che, all'inizio del nuovo anno, l'esercito dei Siri salì contro Joas. | 24 | For the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men, and the LORD delivered a very great host into their hand, because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers. So they executed judgment against Joash. | Et quoique l'armée venue de Syrie fût peu nombreuse, l'Eternel livra pourtant entre leurs mains une très grosse armée, parce qu'ils avaient abandonné l'Eternel Dieu de leurs pères. Ainsi les Syriens mirent Joas pour un exemple de jugement. | Sebbene l'esercito dei Siri fosse venuto con pochi uomini, l'Eterno diede nelle loro mani un grandissimo esercito, perché avevano abbandonato l'Eterno, il DIO dei loro padri. Così essi fecero giustizia di Joas. |
| 25 | And when they were departed from him, (for they left him in great diseases,) his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died: and they buried him in the city of David, but they buried him not in the sepulchres of the kings. | Et quand ils se furent retirés d'avec lui, parce qu'ils l'avaient laissé dans de grandes langueurs, ses serviteurs conjurèrent contre lui, à cause du meurtre des fils de Jéhojadah le Sacrificateur, et le tuèrent sur son lit; et ainsi il mourut, et on l'ensevelit en la Cité de David, mais on ne l'ensevelit point aux sépulcres des Rois. | Quando i Siri si ritirarono da lui (perché lo avevano lasciato molto malato), i suoi servi ordirono una congiura contro di lui, a motivo dell'uccisione dei figli del sacerdote Jehoiada, e lo uccisero nel suo letto. Così egli morì, e lo seppellirono nella città di Davide, ma non nei sepolcri dei re. |
| 26 | And these are they that conspired against him; Zabad the son of Shimeath an Ammonitess, and Jehozabad the son of Shimrith a Moabitess. | Et ce sont ici ceux qui conjurèrent contre lui, Zabad, fils de Simhat femme Hammonite, et Jéhozabad fils de Simrith femme Moabite. | Questi sono coloro che congiurarono contro di lui: Zabad figlio di Scimeath l'Ammonita, e Jehozabad figlio di Scimrith, la Moabita. |
