| 8 | And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying, | Ils l'ont habité, et t'y ont bâti un sanctuaire pour ton nom, en disant: | Essi vi hanno dimorato e vi hanno costruito un santuario per il tuo nome dicendo: |
| 9 | If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help. | S'il nous arrive quelque mal, l'épée, le jugement, la peste, ou la famine, nous nous tiendrons devant cette maison, et en ta présence; car ton nom est en cette maison; et nous crierons à toi dans notre détresse, et tu exauceras et tu délivreras! | "Se dovesse venire su di noi una calamità, la spada, il giudizio oppure la peste o la carestia, noi ci presenteremo davanti a questo tempio e davanti a te (poiché il tuo nome è in questo tempio) noi grideremo a te dalla nostra avversità e tu ci ascolterai e ci verrai in aiuto". |

Car il n'y a point de force en nous devant cette grande multitude qui vient contre nous, et nous ne savons que faire; mais nos yeux sont sur toi. | O DIO nostro, non eseguirai tu il giudizio su di loro? Poiché noi siamo senza forza davanti a questa grande moltitudine che viene contro di noi; non sappiamo cosa fare, ma i nostri occhi sono su di te. |

| 14 | Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation; | Alors l'Esprit de l'Éternel fut sur Jachaziel, fils de Zacharie, fils de Bénaja, fils de Jéïel, fils de Matthania, Lévite, d'entre les enfants d'Asaph, au milieu de l'assemblée; | Allora nel mezzo dell'assemblea lo Spirito dell'Eterno investì Jahaziel, figlio di Zaccaria, figlio di Benaiah, figlio di Jeiel, figlio di Mattaniah, un Levita, dei figli di Asaf. |
| 15 | And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's. | Et il dit: Vous, tout Juda, et habitants de Jérusalem, et toi, roi Josaphat, soyez attentifs! Ainsi vous dit l'Éternel: Ne craignez point, et ne soyez point effrayés à cause de cette grande multitude; car ce ne sera pas à vous de combattre, mais à Dieu. | E questi disse: Ascoltate, voi tutti di Giuda, voi abitanti di Gerusalemme, e tu, o re Giosafat! | 16 | To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel. | Descendez demain contre eux; les voici qui montent par la montée de Tsits, et vous les trouverez à l'extrémité de la vallée, en face du désert de Jéruël. | Domani scendete contro di loro; ecco, essi saliranno per la salita di Tsits e voi li troverete all'estremità della valle di fronte al deserto di Jeruel. |
| 17 | Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you. | Ce ne sera point à vous de combattre en cette bataille; présentez-vous, tenez-vous là, et voyez la délivrance que l'Éternel va vous donner. Juda et Jérusalem, ne craignez point, et ne soyez point effrayés! Demain, sortez au-devant d'eux, et l'Éternel sera avec vous. | Non sarete voi a combattere in questa battaglia; prendete posizione, state fermi e vedrete la liberazione dell'Eterno, che è con voi, O Giuda, o Gerusalemme, non temete e non sgomentatevi domani uscite contro di loro, perché l'Eterno è con voi". |
| 18 | And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD. | Alors Josaphat s'inclina le visage contre terre, et tout Juda et les habitants de Jérusalem se jetèrent devant l'Éternel, se prosternant devant l'Éternel. | Allora Giosafat chinò la faccia a terra, e tutto Giuda e gli abitanti di Gerusalemme si prostrarono davanti all'Eterno e lo adorarono |
| 19 | And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high. | Et les Lévites, d'entre les enfants des Kéhathites et d'entre les enfants des Corites, se levèrent pour célébrer l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, d'une voix forte et haute. | Poi i Leviti, dei figli dei Kehathiti e dei figli dei Korahiti, si levarono per lodare ad altissima voce l'Eterno, il DIO d'Israele. |
| 20 | And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. | Puis, le matin, ils se levèrent de bonne heure et sortirent vers le désert de Thékoa; et comme ils sortaient, Josaphat se tint là et dit: Juda et vous, habitants de Jérusalem, écoutez-moi: Croyez en l'Éternel votre Dieu, et vous serez en sûreté; croyez en ses prophètes, et vous réussirez. | La mattina seguente si alzarono presto e partirono per il deserto di Tekoa; mentre si mettevano in cammino, Giosafat, stando in piedi, disse: Ascoltatemi, o Giuda e voi abitanti di Gerusalemme! | 21 | And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever. | Puis, ayant délibéré avec le peuple, il établit des chantres de l'Éternel, qui célébraient sa sainte magnificence; et, marchant devant l'armée, ils disaient: Louez l'Éternel, car sa miséricorde demeure à toujours! | Quindi, dopo essersi consigliato con il popolo, stabilì quelli che dovevano cantare all'Eterno e dovevano lodarlo per lo splendore della sua SANTITA', mentre camminavano davanti all'esercito e dicevano: Celebrate l'Eterno, perché la sua benignità dura in eterno. |
| 22 | And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. | Et au moment où ils commencèrent le chant et la louange, l'Éternel mit des embuscades contre les enfants d'Ammon, et de Moab, et ceux de la montagne de Séir, qui venaient contre Juda, et ils furent battus. | Quando essi cominciarono a cantare e a lodare, l'Eterno tese un'imboscata contro i figli di Ammon e di Moab, e quelli del monte Seir che erano venuti contro Giuda, e rimasero sconfitti. |
| 23 | For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another. | Les enfants d'Ammon et de Moab se levèrent contre les habitants de la montagne de Séir, pour les vouer à l'interdit et les exterminer; et quand ils en eurent fini avec les habitants de Séir, ils s'aidèrent l'un l'autre à se détruire. | I figli di Ammon e di Moab insorsero contro gli abitanti del monte Seir per votarli allo sterminio e distruggerli, quand'ebbero annientati gli abitanti di Seir, si aiutarono a distruggersi a vicenda. |
| 24 | And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped. | Et quand Juda arriva sur la hauteur d'où l'on voit le désert, ils regardèrent vers cette multitude, et voici, c'étaient des cadavres gisant à terre, sans qu'il en fût échappé un seul. | Così, quando quelli di Giuda giunsero sull'altura da cui si poteva osservare il deserto, si volsero verso la moltitudine, ed ecco, non c'erano che cadaveri distesi per terra; nessuno era scampato. |
| 25 | And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much. | Ainsi Josaphat et son peuple vinrent pour piller leur butin, et ils trouvèrent parmi eux, au milieu des cadavres, des biens en abondance, et des objets précieux; et ils en enlevèrent tant, qu'ils ne le pouvaient porter; et ils pillèrent le butin pendant trois jours, car il était considérable. | Allora Giosafat e la sua gente andarono a portar via le loro spoglie; tra di loro trovarono una grande quantità di ricchezze sui loro cadaveri e di oggetti preziosi; ne presero per sé più di quanto ne potessero portare; impiegarono tre giorni a portar via il bottino, tanto era copioso. |
| 26 | And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the LORD: therefore the name of the same place was called, The valley of Berachah, unto this day. | Et, le quatrième jour, ils s'assemblèrent dans la vallée de Bénédiction; car ils bénirent là l'Éternel; c'est pourquoi, on a appelé ce lieu, jusqu'à ce jour, la vallée de Bénédiction. | Il quarto giorno si radunarono nella Valle di Benedizione, dove benedissero l'Eterno; per questo quel luogo è stato chiamato Valle di Benedizione fino al giorno d'oggi. |
| 27 | Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in the forefront of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the LORD had made them to rejoice over their enemies. | Puis tous les hommes de Juda et de Jérusalem, et Josaphat, à leur tête, reprirent joyeusement le chemin de Jérusalem; car l'Éternel leur avait donné de la joie au sujet de leurs ennemis. | Quindi tutti gli uomini di Giuda e di Gerusalemme, con Giosafat in testa, si misero in cammino con gioia per far ritorno a Gerusalemme, perché l'Eterno aveva loro dato motivo di rallegrarsi sui loro nemici. |
| 28 | And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets unto the house of the LORD. | Ils entrèrent donc à Jérusalem, dans la maison de l'Éternel, avec des lyres, des harpes et des trompettes. | Così entrarono in Gerusalemme con arpe, cetre e trombe, diretti alla casa dell'Eterno. |
| 29 | And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel. | Et la terreur de Dieu fut sur tous les royaumes des divers pays, quand ils eurent appris que l'Éternel avait combattu contre les ennemis d'Israël. | Il terrore di DIO cadde su tutti i regni degli altri paesi, quando vennero a sapere che l'Eterno aveva combattuto contro i nemici d'Israele. |
| 30 | So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest round about. | Ainsi le royaume de Josaphat fut tranquille, et son Dieu lui donna du repos de tous côtés. | Il regno di Giosafat fu tranquillo: il suo DIO gli concesse pace tutt'intorno. |
| 31 | And Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah: he was thirty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi. | Josaphat régna donc sur Juda. Il était âgé de trente-cinq ans quand il devint roi, et il régna vingt-cinq ans à Jérusalem.
