| 2 | Et on vint et on rapporta à Josaphat, en disant: Il est venu contre toi une grande multitude, de l'autre côté de la mer, de la Syrie; et voici, ils sont à Hatsatson-Thamar, qui est En-Guédi. | Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea from Syria; and, behold, they are in Hazazon-tamar (the same is En-gedi). | Così giunsero alcuni a informare Giosafat, dicendo: Una grande moltitudine si è mossa contro di te da oltre il mare dalla Siria; ecco, essi, sono in Hatsatson-Thamar (che è En-Ghedi). |

| 4 | Et Juda s'assembla pour chercher secours de la part de l'Éternel: et on vint aussi de toutes les villes de Juda pour rechercher l'Éternel. | And Judah gathered themselves together, to seek [help] of Jehovah: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek Jehovah. | Così quei di Giuda si radunarono per cercare aiuto dall'Eterno, e da tutte le città di Giuda venivano a cercare l'Eterno. |

Et en ta main est la puissance et la force, et nul ne peut te résister. | and he said, O Jehovah, the God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and art not thou ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? and in thy hand is power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee. | e disse: O Eterno, Dio dei nostri padri, non sei tu il DIO che è nel cielo? | 8 | Et ils y ont habité, et t'y ont bâti une sanctuaire pour ton nom, disant: | And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying, | Essi vi hanno dimorato e vi hanno costruito un santuario per il tuo nome dicendo: |
| 9 | S'il nous arrive du mal, épée, jugement, ou peste, ou famine, et que nous nous tenions devant cette maison et devant toi, car ton nom est dans cette maison, et que nous criions à toi à cause de notre angoisse, tu écouteras, et tu sauveras. | If evil come upon us, the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this house, and before thee, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, and thou wilt hear and save. | "Se dovesse venire su di noi una calamità, la spada, il giudizio oppure la peste o la carestia, noi ci presenteremo davanti a questo tempio e davanti a te (poiché il tuo nome è in questo tempio) noi grideremo a te dalla nostra avversità e tu ci ascolterai e ci verrai in aiuto". |
| 10 | Et maintenant, voici, les fils d'Ammon et de Moab, et ceux de la montagne de Séhir, chez lesquels tu ne permis pas à Israël d'entrer lorsqu'ils venaient du pays d'Égypte (car ils se détournèrent d'eux, et ne les détruisirent pas), | And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned aside from them, and destroyed them not; | Ed ora, ecco i figli di Ammon, di Moab e quelli del monte Seir, nel cui territorio non permettesti a Israele di entrare quando essi uscivano dal paese d'Egitto (essi perciò si tennero da loro lontani e non li distrussero), |

| 12 | O notre Dieu, ne les jugeras-tu pas? car il n'y a point de force en nous devant cette grande multitude qui vient contre nous, et nous ne savons ce que nous devons faire, mais nos yeux sont sur toi! | O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but out eyes are upon thee. | O DIO nostro, non eseguirai tu il giudizio su di loro? Poiché noi siamo senza forza davanti a questa grande moltitudine che viene contro di noi; non sappiamo cosa fare, ma i nostri occhi sono su di te. |

| 14 | Et l'Esprit de l'Éternel vint, au milieu de la congrégation, sur Jakhaziel, fils de Zacharie, fils de Benaïa, fils de Jehiel, fils de Matthania, lévite d'entre les fils d'Asaph. | Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, the Levite, of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of Jehovah in the midst of the assembly; | Allora nel mezzo dell'assemblea lo Spirito dell'Eterno investì Jahaziel, figlio di Zaccaria, figlio di Benaiah, figlio di Jeiel, figlio di Mattaniah, un Levita, dei figli di Asaf. |

Ainsi vous dit l'Éternel: Ne craignez point, et ne soyez point effrayés à cause de cette grande multitude; car cette guerre n'est pas la vôtre, mais celle de Dieu. | and he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat: Thus saith Jehovah unto you, Fear not ye, neither be dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God`s. | E questi disse: Ascoltate, voi tutti di Giuda, voi abitanti di Gerusalemme, e tu, o re Giosafat! | 16 | Demain, descendez contre eux: voici, ils vont monter par la montée de Tsits, et vous les trouverez au bout de la vallée, devant le désert de Jeruel. | To-morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the ascent of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the valley, before the wilderness of Jeruel. | Domani scendete contro di loro; ecco, essi saliranno per la salita di Tsits e voi li troverete all'estremità della valle di fronte al deserto di Jeruel. |
| 17 | Ce n'est point à vous de combattre en cette affaire; présentez-vous, et tenez-vous là, et voyez la délivrance de l'Éternel qui est avec vous. Juda et Jérusalem, ne craignez pas et ne soyez pas effrayés; demain, sortez à leur rencontre, et l'Éternel sera avec vous. | Ye shall not need to fight in this [battle]: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of Jehovah with you, O Judah and Jerusalem; fear not, nor be dismayed: to-morrow go out against them: for Jehovah is with you. | Non sarete voi a combattere in questa battaglia; prendete posizione, state fermi e vedrete la liberazione dell'Eterno, che è con voi, O Giuda, o Gerusalemme, non temete e non sgomentatevi domani uscite contro di loro, perché l'Eterno è con voi". |
| 18 | Et Josaphat s'inclina le visage contre terre, et tout Juda et les habitants de Jérusalem tombèrent sur leurs faces devant l'Éternel, pour adorer l'Éternel. | And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground; and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before Jehovah, worshipping Jehovah. | Allora Giosafat chinò la faccia a terra, e tutto Giuda e gli abitanti di Gerusalemme si prostrarono davanti all'Eterno e lo adorarono |
| 19 | Et les lévites d'entre les fils des Kehathites et d'entre les fils des Corites se levèrent pour louer l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, à grande et haute voix. | And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites, stood up to praise Jehovah, the God of Israel, with an exceeding loud voice. | Poi i Leviti, dei figli dei Kehathiti e dei figli dei Korahiti, si levarono per lodare ad altissima voce l'Eterno, il DIO d'Israele. |
| 20 | Et ils se levèrent de bonne heure le matin, et sortirent vers le désert de Thekoa; et comme ils sortaient, Josaphat se tint là et dit: Ecoutez-moi, Juda, et vous, habitants de Jérusalem: Croyez à l'Éternel, votre Dieu, et vous serez affermis; croyez ses prophètes, et vous prospérerez. | And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem: believe in Jehovah your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. | La mattina seguente si alzarono presto e partirono per il deserto di Tekoa; mentre si mettevano in cammino, Giosafat, stando in piedi, disse: Ascoltatemi, o Giuda e voi abitanti di Gerusalemme! Credete nell'Eterno, il vostro DIO e sarete saldi; credete nei suoi profeti e prospererete. |
| 21 | Et il tint conseil avec le peuple, et il établit des chantres pour l'Éternel, et ceux qui louaient dans la sainte magnificence, et disaient, en sortant devant les troupes équipées: Célébrez l'Éternel, car sa bonté demeure à toujours. | And when he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed them that should sing unto Jehovah, and give praise in holy array, as they went out before the army, and say, Give thanks unto Jehovah; for his lovingkindness [endureth] for ever. | Quindi, dopo essersi consigliato con il popolo, stabilì quelli che dovevano cantare all'Eterno e dovevano lodarlo per lo splendore della sua SANTITA', mentre camminavano davanti all'esercito e dicevano: Celebrate l'Eterno, perché la sua benignità dura in eterno. |
| 22 | Et au moment où ils commençaient le chant de triomphe et la louange, l'Éternel mit des embûches contre les fils d'Ammon et de Moab et ceux de la montagne de Séhir, qui venaient contre Juda, et ils furent battus. | And when they began to sing and to praise, Jehovah set liers-in-wait against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, that were come against Judah; and they were smitten. | Quando essi cominciarono a cantare e a lodare, l'Eterno tese un'imboscata contro i figli di Ammon e di Moab, e quelli del monte Seir che erano venuti contro Giuda, e rimasero sconfitti. |
| 23 | Et les fils d'Ammon et de Moab se levèrent contre les habitants de la montagne de Séhir, pour les exterminer et les détruire; et quand ils en eurent fini avec les habitants de Séhir, ils s'aidèrent l'un l'autre à se détruire. | For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another. | I figli di Ammon e di Moab insorsero contro gli abitanti del monte Seir per votarli allo sterminio e distruggerli, quand'ebbero annientati gli abitanti di Seir, si aiutarono a distruggersi a vicenda. |
| 24 | Juda vint sur un lieu élevé d'où l'on voyait le désert; et ils regardèrent du côté de la multitude, et voici, c'étaient des cadavres étendus par terre, et personne n'était échappé. | And when Judah came to the watch-tower of the wilderness, they looked upon the multitude; and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and there were none that escaped. | Così, quando quelli di Giuda giunsero sull'altura da cui si poteva osservare il deserto, si volsero verso la moltitudine, ed ecco, non c'erano che cadaveri distesi per terra; nessuno era scampato. |
| 25 | Et Josaphat et son peuple vinrent pour piller leur butin, et ils trouvèrent parmi eux en abondance des richesses et des cadavres, et des objets précieux, et ils en ramassèrent à ne pouvoir les porter; et ils furent trois jours à piller le butin, car il était abondant. | And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches and dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in taking the spoil, it was so much. | Allora Giosafat e la sua gente andarono a portar via le loro spoglie; tra di loro trovarono una grande quantità di ricchezze sui loro cadaveri e di oggetti preziosi; ne presero per sé più di quanto ne potessero portare; impiegarono tre giorni a portar via il bottino, tanto era copioso. |
| 26 | Et le quatrième jour, ils s'assemblèrent dans la vallée de Beraca, car là ils bénirent l'Éternel; c'est pourquoi on a appelé ce lieu-là du nom de la vallée de Beraca, jusqu'à ce jour. | And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Beracah; for there they blessed Jehovah: therefore the name of that place was called The valley of Beracah unto this day. | Il quarto giorno si radunarono nella Valle di Benedizione, dove benedissero l'Eterno; per questo quel luogo è stato chiamato Valle di Benedizione fino al giorno d'oggi. |
| 27 | Et tous les hommes de Juda et de Jérusalem, et Josaphat à leur tête, s'en retournèrent, revenant à Jérusalem avec joie; car l'Éternel les avait réjouis au sujet de leurs ennemis. | Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in the forefront of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for Jehovah had made them to rejoice over their enemies. | Quindi tutti gli uomini di Giuda e di Gerusalemme, con Giosafat in testa, si misero in cammino con gioia per far ritorno a Gerusalemme, perché l'Eterno aveva loro dato motivo di rallegrarsi sui loro nemici. |
| 28 | Et ils vinrent à Jérusalem, à la maison de l'Éternel, avec des luths et des harpes et des trompettes. | And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets unto the house of Jehovah. | Così entrarono in Gerusalemme con arpe, cetre e trombe, diretti alla casa dell'Eterno. |
| 29 | Et la frayeur de Dieu fut sur tous les royaumes des pays, quand ils entendirent que l'Éternel combattait contre les ennemis d'Israël. | And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of the countries, when they heard that Jehovah fought against the enemies of Israel. | Il terrore di DIO cadde su tutti i regni degli altri paesi, quando vennero a sapere che l'Eterno aveva combattuto contro i nemici d'Israele. |
| 30 | Et le royaume de Josaphat fut tranquille, et son Dieu lui donna du repos tout à l'entour. | So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet; for his God gave him rest round about. | Il regno di Giosafat fu tranquillo: il suo DIO gli concesse pace tutt'intorno. |
| 31 | Et Josaphat régna sur Juda. Il était âgé de trente-cinq ans lorsqu'il commença de régner, et il régna vingt-cinq ans à Jérusalem; et le nom de sa mère était Azuba, fille de Shilki. | And Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah: he was thirty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem: and his mother`s name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi. | Così Giosafat regnò sopra Giuda. Aveva trentacinque anni quando iniziò a regnare, e regnò venticinque anni a Gerusalemme; il nome di sua madre era Azubah, figlia di Scilhi. |
| 32 | Et il marcha dans la voie d'Asa, son père, et ne s'en détourna pas, faisant ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Éternel. | And he walked in the way of Asa his father, and turned not aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah. | Egli seguì in tutto le vie di Asa suo padre e non se ne allontanò, facendo ciò che è giusto agli occhi dell'Eterno. |
| 33 | Seulement, les hauts lieux ne furent pas ôtés, et le peuple n'avait pas encore disposé son coeur à rechercher le Dieu de ses pères. | Howbeit the high places were not taken away; neither as yet had the people set their hearts unto the God of their fathers. | Tuttavia gli alti luoghi non furono rimossi, perché il popolo non aveva ancora il cuore stabilmente rivolto al DIO dei suoi padri. |

| 37 | Et Éliézer, fils de Dodava, de Marésha, prophétisa contre Josaphat, disant: Parce que tu t'es lié avec Achazia, l'Éternel a détruit tes oeuvres: et les navires furent brisés, et ne purent aller à Tarsis. | Then Eliezer the son of Dodavahu of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, Jehovah hath destroyed thy works. And the ships were broken, so that they were not able to go to Tarshish. | Allora Eliezer, figlio di Dodavah di Mareshah, profetizzò contro Giosafat dicendo: Poiché ti sei associato con Achaziah l'Eterno ha distrutto le tue opere.
