| 8 | Et quand Asa eut entendu ces paroles et la prophétie d'Oded, le prophète, il se fortifia, et fit disparaître les choses abominables de tout le pays de Juda et de Benjamin, et des villes qu'il avait prises de la montagne d'Éphraïm, et il renouvela l'autel de l'Éternel, qui était devant le portique de l'Éternel. | And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominations out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from the hill-country of Ephraim; and he renewed the altar of Jehovah, that was before the porch of Jehovah. | Quando Asa ebbe udito queste parole e la profezia del profeta Oded, prese coraggio e rimosse gli idoli abominevoli da tutto il paese di Giuda e di Beniamino e dalle città che aveva espugnato nella regione montuosa di Efraim, e riparò l'altare dell'Eterno che si trovava davanti all'atrio dell'Eterno. |
| 9 | Et il assembla tout Juda et Benjamin, et les étrangers qui étaient avec eux, d'Éphraïm, et de Manassé, et de Siméon; car beaucoup d'Israélites passèrent à lui quand ils virent que l'Éternel, son Dieu, était avec lui. | And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and them that sojourned with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that Jehovah his God was with him. | Quindi radunò tutto Giuda e Beniamino e quelli di Efraim, di Manasse e di Simeone che risiedevano con loro infatti erano venuti a lui in gran numero da Israele, quando avevano visto che l'Eterno, il suo DIO, era con lui. |
| 10 | Et ils se rassemblèrent à Jérusalem, le troisième mois de la quinzième année du règne d'Asa; | So they gathered themselves together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa. | Così si radunarono a Gerusalemme nel terzo mese del quindicesimo anno del regno di Asa. |
| 11 | et ils sacrifièrent à l'Éternel, en ce jour-là, du butin qu'ils avaient amené, sept cents boeufs et sept mille moutons. | And they sacrificed unto Jehovah in that day, of the spoil which they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep. | In quel tempo sacrificarono all'Eterno, dal bottino che avevano preso, settecento buoi e settemila pecore. |
| 12 | Et ils s'engagèrent ensemble à rechercher l'Éternel, le Dieu de leurs pères, de tout leur coeur et de toute leur âme, | And they entered into the covenant to seek Jehovah, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and with all their soul; | Si impegnarono quindi con un patto a cercare l'Eterno, il DIO dei loro padri, con tutto il loro cuore e con tutta la loro anima. |

Et l'Éternel leur donna du repos tout à l'entour. | And all Judah rejoiced at the oath; for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and Jehovah gave them rest round about. | Tutto Giuda si rallegrò del giuramento, perché avevano giurato con tutto il loro cuore e avevano cercato l'Eterno con tutta la loro volontà, ed egli si era lasciato trovare da loro. Così l'Eterno diede loro riposo tutt'intorno. |
| 16 | Et même à Maaça, sa mère, le roi Asa ôta sa position de reine, parce qu'elle avait fait un simulacre pour Ashère; et Asa abattit son simulacre, et le broya, et le brûla dans la vallée du Cédron. | And also Maacah, the mother of Asa the king, he removed from being queen, because she had made an abominable image for an Asherah; and Asa cut down her image, and made dust of it, and burnt it at the brook Kidron. | Egli destituì persino Maakah, madre del re Asa, dalla sua posizione di regina, perché essa aveva fatto un'immagine abominevole di Ascerah.
