| 8 | Demande-le à tes jeunes gens et ils t'en informeront. Que les jeunes hommes trouvent donc grâce à tes yeux, car nous sommes venus dans un bon jour. Donne, je te prie, à tes serviteurs et à ton fils David ce que ta main trouvera. | Ask thy young men, and they will shew thee. Wherefore let the young men find favour in thine eyes: for we come in a good day: give, I pray thee, whatsoever cometh to thine hand unto thy servants, and to thy son David. | Interroga i tuoi servi e te lo diranno. | 9 | Et les jeunes hommes de David vinrent et parlèrent à Nabal selon toutes ces paroles, au nom de David; et ils se tinrent tranquilles. | And when David's young men came, they spake to Nabal according to all those words in the name of David, and ceased. | Così i giovani di Davide andarono e riferirono a Nabal tutte queste parole in nome di Davide, poi attesero. |
| 10 | Et Nabal répondit aux serviteurs de David, et dit: Qui est David? Et qui est le fils d'Isaï? Aujourd'hui ils sont nombreux les serviteurs qui se sauvent chacun de son maître. | And Nabal answered David's servants, and said, Who is David? and who is the son of Jesse? there be many servants now a days that break away every man from his master. | Ma Nabal rispose ai servi di Davide dicendo: Chi è Davide e chi è il figlio di Isai? Oggi sono molti i servi che si allontanano dai loro padroni. |
| 11 | Et je prendrais mon pain et mon eau, et ma viande que j'ai tuée pour mes tondeurs, et je les donnerais à des hommes dont je ne sais d'où ils sont? | Shall I then take my bread, and my water, and my flesh that I have killed for my shearers, and give it unto men, whom I know not whence they be? | Prenderò dunque il mio pane la mia acqua e la carne degli animali da me uccisi per i miei tosatori, per darli a gente che non so da dove venga?. |
| 12 | Et les jeunes hommes de David rebroussèrent chemin et s'en retournèrent; et ils vinrent et lui racontèrent selon toutes ces paroles. | So David's young men turned their way, and went again, and came and told him all those sayings. | Così i giovani di Davide ripresero la loro strada, tornarono indietro e andarono a riferire tutte queste parole. |
| 13 | Et David dit à ses hommes: Ceignez chacun votre épée. Et ils ceignirent chacun leur épée, et David aussi ceignit son épée. Et environ quatre cents hommes montèrent après David, et deux cents restèrent près du bagage. | And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword. And they girded on every man his sword; and David also girded on his sword: and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the stuff. | Allora Davide disse ai suoi uomini: Ognuno si cinga la spada. Così ognuno cinse la propria spada e anche Davide cinse la sua spada; circa quattrocento uomini salirono dietro a Davide e duecento rimasero presso i bagagli. |
| 14 | Et un jeune homme des gens de Nabal informa Abigaïl, femme de Nabal, disant: Voici, David a envoyé du désert des messagers pour bénir notre maître, et il s'est emporté contre eux. | But one of the young men told Abigail, Nabal's wife, saying, Behold, David sent messengers out of the wilderness to salute our master; and he railed on them. | Ma uno dei servi avvertì Abigail, la moglie di Nabal dicendole: Ecco Davide ha inviato messaggeri dal deserto per salutare il nostro padrone, ma egli li ha insultati. |

| 20 | Et comme elle descendait, montée sur son âne, à couvert de la montagne, voici, David et ses hommes descendaient au-devant d'elle; et elle les rencontra. | And it was so, as she rode on the ass, that she came down by the covert on the hill, and, behold, David and his men came down against her; and she met them. | Ora, mentre essa sul dorso di un asino scendeva per un sentiero nascosto dal monte, Davide e i suoi uomini scendevano verso di lei, ed essa s'imbattè con loro. |
| 21 | Et David avait dit: Certainement c'est en vain que j'ai gardé tout ce que cet homme avait au désert, et que rien n'a manqué de tout ce qui était à lui: il m'a rendu le mal pour le bien. | Now David had said, Surely in vain have I kept all that this fellow hath in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that pertained unto him: and he hath requited me evil for good. | Or Davide aveva detto: Ho certamente custodito invano tutto ciò che costui aveva nel deserto. Non gli è mai mancato nulla di tutto ciò che possedeva, ma egli mi ha reso male per bene. |
| 22 | Que Dieu fasse ainsi aux ennemis de David, et ainsi y ajoute, si, de tout ce qui est à lui, je laisse jusqu'à la lumière du matin un seul homme de reste. | So and more also do God unto the enemies of David, if I leave of all that pertain to him by the morning light any that pisseth against the wall. | Così DIO faccia ai nemici di Davide e anche peggio, se di tutto ciò che possiede io lascerò in vita un sol maschio fino al mattino. |
| 23 | Abigaïl vit David, et elle se hâta et descendit de dessus son âne; et elle tomba sur sa face devant David et se prosterna contre terre. | And when Abigail saw David, she hasted, and lighted off the ass, and fell before David on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, | Quando Abigail vide Davide, scese in fretta dall'asino, e gettandosi con la faccia a terra davanti a Davide, si prostrò fino a terra. |
| 24 | Et elle tomba à ses pieds, et dit: A moi l'iniquité, mon seigneur! Mais je te prie, que ta servante parle à tes oreilles; et écoute les paroles de ta servante. | And fell at his feet, and said, Upon me, my lord, upon me let this iniquity be: and let thine handmaid, I pray thee, speak in thine audience, and hear the words of thine handmaid. | Così si gettò ai suoi piedi e disse: O mio signore, su di me, su di me soltanto ricada la colpa! Deh, lascia che la tua serva ti parli, e tu ascolta le parole della tua serva! |
| 25 | Que mon seigneur, je te prie, ne fasse pas attention à cet homme de Bélial, à Nabal; car il est tel que son nom: son nom est Nabal, et la folie est avec lui. Et moi, ta servante, je n'ai pas vu les jeunes hommes de mon seigneur que tu as envoyés. | Let not my lord, I pray thee, regard this man of Belial, even Nabal: for as his name is, so is he; Nabal is his name, and folly is with him: but I thine handmaid saw not the young men of my lord, whom thou didst send. | Ti prego, signor mio non far caso a quell'uomo spregevole a Nabal, perché egli è esattamente come il suo nome, si chiama Nabal e in lui c'e stoltezza; ma io, la tua serva, non ho visto i giovani mandati dal mio signore. |
| 26 | Et maintenant, mon seigneur, l'Éternel est vivant et ton âme est vivante, que l'Éternel t'a empêché d'en venir au sang et de te faire justice par ta main. Et maintenant, que tes ennemis et ceux qui cherchent à faire du tort à mon seigneur soient comme Nabal! | Now therefore, my lord, as the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, seeing the LORD hath withholden thee from coming to shed blood, and from avenging thyself with thine own hand, now let thine enemies, and they that seek evil to my lord, be as Nabal. | Or dunque, signor mio, com'è vero che l'Eterno vive e che la tua anima vive l'Eterno ti ha impedito di spargere il sangue e di farti giustizia con le tue proprie mani. Or dunque i tuoi nemici e quelli che vogliono fare del male al mio signore siano come Nabal! |
| 27 | Et maintenant, voici ce présent que ton esclave a apporté à mon seigneur pour qu'on le donne aux jeunes hommes qui marchent à la suite de mon seigneur. | And now this blessing which thine handmaid hath brought unto my lord, let it even be given unto the young men that follow my lord. | E ora questo dono che la tua serva ha portato al mio signore, sia dato ai giovani che seguono il mio signore. |
| 28 | Pardonne, je te prie, la transgression de ta servante, car l'Éternel fera certainement une maison stable à mon seigneur; car mon seigneur combat les combats de l'Éternel et la méchanceté n'a jamais été trouvée en toi. | I pray thee, forgive the trespass of thine handmaid: for the LORD will certainly make my lord a sure house; because my lord fighteth the battles of the LORD, and evil hath not been found in thee all thy days. | Deh, perdona la colpa della tua serva; certamente l'Eterno renderà stabile la casa del mio signore, perché il mio signore combatte le battaglie dell'Eterno e in tutto il tempo della tua vita non è stato trovato alcun male in te. |
| 29 | Et un homme s'est levé pour te poursuivre et pour chercher ta vie, mais la vie de mon seigneur est liée dans le faisceau des vivants par devers l'Éternel, ton Dieu; et l'âme de tes ennemis, il la lancera du creux de la fronde. | Yet a man is risen to pursue thee, and to seek thy soul: but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with the LORD thy God; and the souls of thine enemies, them shall he sling out, as out of the middle of a sling. | Se sorgesse qualcuno a perseguitarti e a cercare la tua vita la vita del mio signore sarà custodita nello scrigno della vita presso l'Eterno, il tuo DIO, mentre la vita dei tuoi nemici l'Eterno la scaglierà come dal cavo di una fionda. |
| 30 | Et il arrivera que, lorsque l'Éternel aura fait à mon seigneur selon tout le bien dont il a parlé à ton sujet, et qu'il t'aura établi prince sur Israël, | And it shall come to pass, when the LORD shall have done to my lord according to all the good that he hath spoken concerning thee, and shall have appointed thee ruler over Israel; | Così, quando l'Eterno avrà fatto al mio signore tutto il bene che ha promesso a tuo riguardo e ti avrà costituito capo sopra Israele, |
| 31 | ceci ne sera point pour toi une occasion de chute, ni un achoppement pour le coeur de mon seigneur, d'avoir sans cause versé le sang, et que mon seigneur se soit fait justice à lui-même. Et quand l'Éternel aura fait du bien à mon seigneur, souviens-toi de ta servante. | That this shall be no grief unto thee, nor offence of heart unto my lord, either that thou hast shed blood causeless, or that my lord hath avenged himself: but when the LORD shall have dealt well with my lord, then remember thine handmaid. | questa cosa non sarà un dolore per te ne un rimorso al cuore del mio signore: l'avere cioè sparso del sangue senza motivo e l'essersi fatto giustizia da sé ma quando l'Eterno avrà fatto del bene al mio signore, ricordati della tua serva. |
| 32 | Et David dit à Abigaïl: Béni soit l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, qui en ce jour t'a envoyée à ma rencontre! | And David said to Abigail, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which sent thee this day to meet me: | Allora Davide disse ad Abigail: Sia benedetto l'Eterno, il DIO d'Israele, che oggi ti ha mandato incontro a me! |
| 33 | Et bénie soit ta sagesse, et bénie sois-tu, toi qui en ce jour m'as empêché d'en venir au sang et de me faire justice par ma main! | And blessed be thy advice, and blessed be thou, which hast kept me this day from coming to shed blood, and from avenging myself with mine own hand. | Benedetto il tuo consiglio e benedetta tu che oggi mi hai impedito di arrivare allo spargimento di sangue e di farmi giustizia con le mie proprie mani! |
| 34 | Mais l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, qui m'a empêché de te faire du tort, est vivant, que si tu ne te fusses hâtée et ne fusses venue à ma rencontre, il ne fût pas resté à Nabal un seul homme jusqu'à la lumière du matin. | For in very deed, as the LORD God of Israel liveth, which hath kept me back from hurting thee, except thou hadst hasted and come to meet me, surely there had not been left unto Nabal by the morning light any that pisseth against the wall. | Poiché certo, com'è vero che vive l'Eterno, il DIO d'Israele, che mi ha impedito di farti del male, se non ti fossi affrettata a venirmi incontro allo spuntar del giorno a Nabal non sarebbe rimasto un sol uomo. |
| 35 | Et David prit de sa main ce qu'elle lui avait apporté, et il lui dit: Monte en paix dans ta maison; regarde, j'ai écouté ta voix, et je t'ai accueillie avec faveur. | So David received of her hand that which she had brought him, and said unto her, Go up in peace to thine house; see, I have hearkened to thy voice, and have accepted thy person. | Così Davide ricevette dalle sue mani ciò che ella gli aveva portato e le disse: Risali in pace a casa tua, vedi, io ho dato ascolto alla tua voce e ho avuto riguardo alla tua persona. |
| 36 | Et Abigaïl vint vers Nabal; et voici, il faisait dans sa maison un festin comme un festin de roi; et le coeur de Nabal était gai, et il était ivre à l'excès; aussi elle ne lui raconta aucune chose, ni petite, ni grande, jusqu'à la lumière du matin. | And Abigail came to Nabal; and, behold, he held a feast in his house, like the feast of a king; and Nabal's heart was merry within him, for he was very drunken: wherefore she told him nothing, less or more, until the morning light. | Abigail ritornò quindi da Nabal; egli stava facendo un banchetto in casa sua, come un banchetto da re. Nabal aveva il cuore allegro, perché era ubriaco fradicio, perciò ella non gli fece sapere niente, né poco né molto, fino allo spuntar del giorno. |
| 37 | Et il arriva le matin, quand le vin de Nabal eut passé, que sa femme lui rapporta ces choses; et son coeur mourut au dedans de lui, et il devint comme une pierre. | But it came to pass in the morning, when the wine was gone out of Nabal, and his wife had told him these things, that his heart died within him, and he became as a stone. | Ma il mattino dopo, quando l'effetto del vino gli era passato, la moglie raccontò a Nabal queste cose; allora il cuore dentro di lui venne meno ed egli rimase come un sasso. |
| 38 | Et il arriva, environ dix jours après, que l'Éternel frappa Nabal, et il mourut. | And it came to pass about ten days after, that the LORD smote Nabal, that he died. | Circa dieci giorni dopo, l'Eterno colpì Nabal ed egli morì. |
| 39 | David apprit que Nabal était mort, et il dit: Béni soit l'Éternel qui a pris en main ma cause touchant l'outrage que m'avait fait Nabal, et qui a retenu son serviteur de faire le mal! Et l'Éternel a fait retomber le mal de Nabal sur sa tête. Et David envoya parler à Abigaïl, afin de la prendre pour femme. | And when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, Blessed be the LORD, that hath pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and hath kept his servant from evil: for the LORD hath returned the wickedness of Nabal upon his own head. And David sent and communed with Abigail, to take her to him to wife. | Quando Davide seppe che Nabal era morto, disse: Sia benedetto l'Eterno, che mi ha reso giustizia dell'oltraggio che ho ricevuto da Nabal e ha trattenuto il suo servo dal male! L'Eterno infatti ha fatto ricadere sul suo capo la malvagità di Nabal. Poi Davide mandò un'ambasciata a parlare ad Abigail per prenderla in moglie. |
| 40 | Et les serviteurs de David vinrent vers Abigaïl, à Carmel, et lui parlèrent, disant: David nous a envoyés vers toi afin de te prendre pour sa femme. | And when the servants of David were come to Abigail to Carmel, they spake unto her, saying, David sent us unto thee, to take thee to him to wife. | I servi di Davide vennero da Abigail a Karmel e le parlarono così, dicendo: Davide ci ha mandati da te, perché vuole prenderti in moglie. |
| 41 | Et elle se leva et se prosterna le visage contre terre, et dit: Voici, ta servante sera une esclave pour laver les pieds des serviteurs de mon seigneur. | And she arose, and bowed herself on her face to the earth, and said, Behold, let thine handmaid be a servant to wash the feet of the servants of my lord. | Allora ella si levò, si prostrò con la faccia a terra e disse: Ecco, possa la tua serva fare da schiava, per lavare i piedi ai servi del mio signore. |
| 42 | Et Abigaïl se leva en hâte, et monta sur un âne, et ses cinq jeunes filles qui la suivaient; et elle s'en alla après les messagers de David, et fut sa femme. | And Abigail hasted, and arose and rode upon an ass, with five damsels of hers that went after her; and she went after the messengers of David, and became his wife. | Poi Abigail si levò in fretta, montò sull'asino e, assistita da cinque fanciulle, seguì i messaggeri di Davide e divenne sua moglie. |

| 44 | Et Saül avait donné Mical, sa fille, femme de David, à Palti, fils de Laïsh, qui était Gallim. | But Saul had given Michal his daughter, David's wife, to Phalti the son of Laish, which was of Gallim. | Or Saul aveva dato sua figlia Mikal, già moglie di Davide, a Palti, figlio di Laish, che era di Gallim. |
