Il n'en est rien. | And he said unto him, Far from it; thou shalt not die: behold, my father doeth nothing either great or small, but that he discloseth it unto me; and why should my father hide this thing from me? it is not so. | Gionathan gli rispose: Non sia mai! Mais l'Éternel est vivant et ton âme est vivante ! il n'y a qu'un pas entre moi et la mort. | And David sware moreover, and said, Thy father knoweth well that I have found favor in thine eyes; and he saith, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved: but truly as Jehovah liveth, and as thy soul liveth, there is but a step between me and death. | Davide giurò nuovamente e disse: Tuo padre sa certamente che io ho trovato grazia ai tuoi occhi e avrà detto "Gionathan non sappia questo, perché non si affligga". | 5 | Et David lui répondit : Voici, c'est demain la nouvelle lune, et je devrais m'asseoir avec le roi pour manger ; laisse-moi aller, et je me cacherai dans les champs jusqu'au soir du troisième jour. | And David said unto Jonathan, Behold, to-morrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to sit with the king at meat: but let me go, that I may hide myself in the field unto the third day at even. | Davide rispose a Gionathan: Ecco, domani è la luna nuova e io dovrei sedere a tavola con il re, ma tu lasciami andare e io mi nasconderò per la campagna fino alla sera del terzo giorno. |
| 6 | Si ton père remarque mon absence, tu diras : David m'a prié de lui laisser faire une course à Bethléhem, sa ville, parce qu'il y a pour toute la famille un sacrifice annuel. | If thy father miss me at all, then say, David earnestly asked leave of me that he might run to Beth-lehem his city; for it is the yearly sacrifice there for all the family. | Se tuo padre nota la mia assenza, tu gli dirai: "Davide mi ha pregato con insistenza di poter fare una scappata fino a Betlemme, sua città, perché vi si celebra il sacrificio annuale per tutta la sua famiglia". |
| 7 | Et s'il dit : C'est bien ! ton serviteur alors n'a rien à craindre ; mais si la colère s'empare de lui, sache que le mal est résolu de sa part. | If he say thus, It is well; thy servant shall have peace: but if he be wroth, then know that evil is determined by him. | Se dirà: "Va bene", il tuo servo sarà salvo. Se invece si adira, sappi che ha deciso di farmi del male. |
| 8 | Montre donc ton affection pour ton serviteur, puisque tu as fait avec ton serviteur une alliance devant l'Éternel. Et, s'il y a quelque crime en moi, ôte-moi la vie toi-même, car pourquoi me mènerais-tu jusqu'à ton père ? | Therefore deal kindly with thy servant; for thou hast brought thy servant into a covenant of Jehovah with thee: but if there be in me iniquity, slay me thyself; for why shouldest thou bring me to thy father? | Usa dunque misericordia col tuo servo, perché hai fatto entrare il tuo servo in un patto dell'Eterno con te; ma se vi è in me qualche colpa uccidimi tu. Perché dovresti condurmi da tuo padre?. |
| 9 | Jonathan lui dit : Loin de toi la pensée que je ne t'informerai pas, si j'apprends que le mal est résolu de la part de mon père et menace de t'atteindre ! | And Jonathan said, Far be it from thee; for if I should at all know that evil were determined by my father to come upon thee, then would not I tell it thee? | Gionathan disse: Lungi da te questo! Se io sapessi che mio padre ha deciso di farti del male, non te lo farei sapere?. |
| 10 | David dit à Jonathan : Qui m'informera dans le cas où ton père te répondrait durement ? | Then said David to Jonathan, Who shall tell me if perchance thy father answer thee roughly? | Davide disse a Gionathan: Chi mi avvertirà se tuo padre ti risponde duramente?. |
| 11 | Et Jonathan dit à David : Viens, sortons dans les champs. Et ils sortirent tous deux dans les champs. | And Jonathan said unto David, Come, and let us go out into the field. And they went out both of them into the field. | Gionathan disse a Davide: Vieni, andiamo fuori in campagna!. Così entrambi andarono fuori in campagna. |
| 12 | Jonathan dit à David : Je prends à témoin l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël ! Je sonderai mon père demain ou après-demain ; et, dans le cas où il serait bien disposé pour David, si je n'envoie vers toi personne pour t'en informer, | And Jonathan said unto David, Jehovah, the God of Israel, [be witness]: when I have sounded my father about this time to-morrow, [or] the third day, behold, if there be good toward David, shall I not then send unto thee, and disclose it unto thee? | Allora Gionathan disse a Davide: L'Eterno, il DIO d'Israele, mi sia testimone! Quando domani o dopodomani, a quest'ora, indagherò sulle intenzioni di mio padre, se egli è ben disposto verso Davide, e io non mando ad avvisarti, |
| 13 | que l'Éternel traite Jonathan dans toute sa rigueur ! Dans le cas où mon père trouverait bon de te faire du mal, je t'informerai aussi et je te laisserai partir, afin que tu t'en ailles en paix ; et que l'Éternel soit avec toi, comme il a été avec mon père ! | Jehovah do so to Jonathan, and more also, should it please my father to do thee evil, if I disclose it not unto thee, and send thee away, that thou mayest go in peace: and Jehovah be with thee, as he hath been with my father. | l'Eterno faccia questo a Gionathan e anche peggio. Se invece mio padre intende farti del male, ti farò avvertire e ti lascerò partire perché te ne vada in pace; e l'Eterno sia con te, com'è stato con mio padre! |
| 14 | Si je dois vivre encore, veuille user envers moi de la bonté de l'Éternel ; | And thou shalt not only while yet I live show me the lovingkindness of Jehovah, that I die not; | Finché sarò in vita, non mi userai tu la bontà dell'Eterno, perché non sia ucciso? |
| 15 | et si je meurs, ne retire jamais ta bonté envers ma maison, pas même lorsque l'Éternel retranchera chacun des ennemis de David de dessus la face de la terre. | but also thou shalt not cut off thy kindness from my house for ever; no, not when Jehovah hath cut off the enemies of David every one from the face of the earth. | Ma non cesserai mai di usare bontà verso la mia casa, neppur quando l'Eterno avrà sterminato dalla faccia della terra tutti quanti i nemici di Davide. |
| 16 | Car Jonathan a fait alliance avec la maison de David. Que l'Éternel tire vengeance des ennemis de David ! | So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, [saying], And Jehovah will require it at the hand of David`s enemies. | Così Gionathan fece un patto con la casa di Davide, dicendo: L'Eterno chieda conto del sangue ai nemici di Davide!. |
| 17 | Jonathan protesta encore auprès de David de son affection pour lui, car il l'aimait comme son âme. | And Jonathan caused David to swear again, for the love that he had to him; for he loved him as he loved his own soul. | Per l'amore che gli portava, Gionathan fece di nuovo giurare Davide perché egli lo amava come la sua anima. |
| 18 | Jonathan lui dit : C'est demain la nouvelle lune ; on remarquera ton absence, car ta place sera vide. | Then Jonathan said unto him, To-morrow is the new moon: and thou wilt be missed, because thy seat will be empty. | Poi Gionathan gli disse: Domani è la nuova luna e la tua assenza sarà notata, perché il tuo posto sarà vuoto. |
| 19 | Tu descendras le troisième jour jusqu'au fond du lieu où tu t'étais caché le jour de l'affaire, et tu resteras près de la pierre d'Ézel. | And when thou hast stayed three days, thou shalt go down quickly, and come to the place where thou didst hide thyself when the business was in hand, and shalt remain by the stone Ezel. | Lascerai passare tre giorni, poi scenderai in fretta e ti recherai al luogo dove ti sei nascosto il giorno del fatto, e rimarrai presso la pietra di Ezel. |
| 20 | Je tirerai trois flèches du côté de la pierre, comme si je visais un but. | And I will shoot three arrows on the side thereof, as though I shot at a mark. | Io tirerò tre frecce a fianco di essa, come se tirassi al bersaglio. |
| 21 | Et voici, j'enverrai un jeune homme, et je lui dirai : Va, trouve les flèches. Si je lui dis : Voici, les flèches sont en deçà de toi, prends-les ! alors viens, car il y a paix pour toi, et tu n'as rien à craindre, l'Éternel est vivant ! | And, behold, I will send the lad, [saying], Go, find the arrows. If I say unto the lad, Behold, the arrows are on this side of thee; take them, and come; for there is peace to thee and no hurt, as Jehovah liveth. | Poi manderò un ragazzo, dicendo: "Va' a cercare le frecce". Se dico al ragazzo: "Guarda, le frecce sono di qua da te, prendile!", allora vieni perché, come l'Eterno vive, va bene per te e non c'è alcun pericolo. |
| 22 | Mais si je dis au jeune homme : Voici, les flèches sont au delà de toi ! alors va-t-en, car l'Éternel te renvoie. | But if I say thus unto the boy, Behold, the arrows are beyond thee; go thy way; for Jehovah hath sent thee away. | Se invece dico al giovane: "Guarda, le frecce sono di là da te", allora vattene, perché l'Eterno ti fa partire. |
| 23 | L'Éternel est à jamais témoin de la parole que nous nous sommes donnée l'un à l'autre. | And as touching the matter which thou and I have spoken of, behold, Jehovah is between thee and me for ever. | Riguardo poi alle cose di cui io e tu abbiamo parlato, ecco l'Eterno sia testimone fra me e te per sempre. |
| 24 | David se cacha dans les champs. C'était la nouvelle lune, et le roi prit place au festin pour manger. | So David hid himself in the field: and when the new moon was come, the king sat him down to eat food. | Così Davide si nascose nel campo quando arrivò la luna nuova il re si mise a sedere per prendere cibo. |
| 25 | Le roi s'assit comme à l'ordinaire sur son siège contre la paroi, Jonathan se leva, et Abner s'assit à côté de Saül ; mais la place de David resta vide. | And the king sat upon his seat, as at other times, even upon the seat by the wall; and Jonathan stood up, and Abner sat by Saul`s side: but David`s place was empty. | Il re si pose a sedere sulla sua sedia come le altre volte, sulla sedia vicina al muro; Gionathan si pose a sedere di fronte. Abner si sedette accanto a Saul ma il posto di Davide rimase vuoto. |
| 26 | Saül ne dit rien ce jour-là ; car, pensa-t-il, c'est par hasard, il n'est pas pur, certainement il n'est pas pur. | Nevertheless Saul spake not anything that day: for he thought, Something hath befallen him, he is not clean; surely he is not clean. | Tuttavia Saul non disse nulla quel giorno, perché pensava: Gli è successo qualcosa; non sarà puro; certamente egli non è puro. |
| 27 | Le lendemain, second jour de la nouvelle lune, la place de David était encore vide. Et Saül dit à Jonathan, son fils : Pourquoi le fils d'Isaï n'a-t-il paru au repas ni hier ni aujourd'hui ? | And it came to pass on the morrow after the new moon, [which was] the second [day], that David`s place was empty: and Saul said unto Jonathan his son, Wherefore cometh not the son of Jesse to meat, neither yesterday, nor to-day? | Ma il giorno dopo, il secondo giorno della luna nuova, il posto di Davide era ancora vuoto. Allora Saul disse a Gionathan, suo figlio: Perché il figlio di Isai non è venuto a mangiare né ieri né oggi?. |
| 28 | Jonathan répondit à Saül : David m'a demandé la permission d'aller à Bethléhem. | And Jonathan answered Saul, David earnestly asked leave of me to go to Beth-lehem: | Gionathan rispose a Saul: Davide mi ha chiesto con insistenza di lasciarlo andare a Betlemme; |
| 29 | Il a dit : Laisse-moi aller, je te prie, car nous avons dans la ville un sacrifice de famille, et mon frère me l'a fait savoir ; si donc j'ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, permets que j'aille en hâte voir mes frères. C'est pour cela qu'il n'est point venu à la table du roi. | and he said, Let me go, I pray thee; for our family hath a sacrifice in the city; and my brother, he hath commanded me [to be there]: and now, if I have found favor in thine eyes, let me get away, I pray thee, and see my brethren. Therefore he is not come unto the king`s table. | e ha detto: "Ti prego, lasciami andare, perché abbiamo in città un sacrificio di famiglia, e mio fratello mi ha imposto di andarvi; ora dunque, se ho trovato grazia ai tuoi occhi, ti prego lasciami fare una scappata per vedere i miei fratelli". Per questo non è venuto alla mensa del re. |
| 30 | Alors la colère de Saül s'enflamma contre Jonathan, et il lui dit : Fils pervers et rebelle, sais je pas que tu as pour ami le fils d'Isaï, à ta honte et à la honte de ta mère ? | Then Saul`s anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said unto him, Thou son of a perverse rebellious woman, do not I know that thou hast chosen the son of Jesse to thine own shame, and unto the shame of thy mother`s nakedness? | Allora l'ira di Saul si accese contro Gionathan, e gli disse: Figlio perverso e ribelle, non so io forse che tieni le parti del figlio di Isai, a tua vergogna e a vergogna della nudità di tua madre? |
| 31 | Car aussi longtemps que le fils d'Isaï sera vivant sur la terre, il n'y aura point de sécurité ni pour toi ni pour ta royauté. Et maintenant, envoie-le chercher, et qu'on me l'amène, car il est digne de mort. | For as long as the son of Jesse liveth upon the ground, thou shalt not be established, nor thy kingdom. Wherefore now send and fetch him unto me, for he shall surely die. | Poiché fino a quando il figlio di Isai vivrà sulla terra, non vi sarà stabilità né per te né per il tuo regno. Manda dunque a prenderlo e conducilo da me, perché deve morire. |
| 32 | Jonathan répondit à Saül, son père, et lui dit : Pourquoi le ferait-on mourir ? Qu'a-t-il fait ? | And Jonathan answered Saul his father, and said unto him, Wherefore should he be put to death? what hath he done? | Gionathan rispose a Saul suo padre e gli disse: Perché dovrebbe morire? Che ha fatto?. |
| 33 | Et Saül dirigea sa lance contre lui, pour le frapper. Jonathan comprit que c'était chose résolue chez son père que de faire mourir David. | And Saul cast his spear at him to smite him; whereby Jonathan knew that is was determined of his father to put David to death. | Allora Saul scagliò la lancia contro di lui per ucciderlo. Gionathan comprese quindi che l'uccisione di Davide era cosa decisa da parte di suo padre. |
| 34 | Il se leva de table dans une ardente colère, et ne participa point au repas le second jour de la nouvelle lune ; car il était affligé à cause de David, parce que son père l'avait outragé. | So Jonathan arose from the table in fierce anger, and did eat no food the second day of the month; for he was grieved for David, because his father had done him shame. | Così Gionathan si alzò da tavola acceso d'ira e non mangiò nulla nel secondo giorno della luna nuova, poiché era addolorato per Davide, perché suo padre l'aveva trattato in modo vergognoso. |
| 35 | Le lendemain matin, Jonathan alla dans les champs au lieu convenu avec David, et il était accompagné d'un petit garçon. | And it came to pass in the morning, that Jonathan went out into the field at the time appointed with David, and a little lad with him. | Il mattino dopo, Gionathan uscì in campagna al luogo fissato con Davide, avendo con sé un ragazzo. |
| 36 | Il lui dit : Cours, trouve les flèches que je vais tirer. Le garçon courut, et Jonathan tira une flèche qui le dépassa. | And he said unto his lad, Run, find now the arrows which I shoot. And as the lad ran, he shot an arrow beyond him. | Egli disse al ragazzo: Corri a cercare le frecce che tiro. Come il ragazzo correva, tirò una freccia che lo oltrepassò. |
| 37 | Lorsqu'il arriva au lieu où était la flèche que Jonathan avait tirée, Jonathan cria derrière lui : La flèche n'est-elle pas plus loin que toi ? | And when the lad was come to the place of the arrow which Jonathan had shot, Jonathan cried after the lad, and said, Is not the arrow beyond thee? | Quando il ragazzo giunse sul luogo dove si trovava la freccia che Gionathan aveva tirato, Gionathan gli gridò dietro: La freccia non è forse oltre te?. |
| 38 | Il lui cria encore : Vite, hâte-toi, ne t'arrête pas ! Et le garçon de Jonathan ramassa les flèches et revint vers son maître. | And Jonathan cried after the lad, Make speed, haste, stay not. And Jonathan`s lad gathered up the arrows, and came to his master. | Poi Gionathan gridò ancora al ragazzo: Fa' in fretta, sbrigati, non fermarti!. Così il ragazzo di Gionathan raccolse le frecce e tornò dal suo padrone. |
| 39 | Le garçon ne savait rien ; Jonathan et David seuls comprenaient la chose. | But the lad knew not anything: only Jonathan and David knew the matter. | Ma il ragazzo non sapeva nulla; solo Gionathan e Davide sapevano di che si trattasse. |
| 40 | Jonathan remit ses armes à son garçon, et lui dit : Va, porte-les à la ville. | And Jonathan gave his weapons unto his lad, and said unto him, Go, carry them to the city. | Gionathan diede quindi le sue armi al suo ragazzo e gli disse: Va' portale in città. |
| 41 | Après le départ du garçon, David se leva du côté du midi, puis se jeta le visage contre terre et se prosterna trois fois. Les deux amis s'embrassèrent et pleurèrent ensemble, David surtout fondit en larmes. | And as soon as the lad was gone, David arose out of [a place] toward the South, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times: and they kissed one another, and wept one with another, until David exceeded. | Appena il ragazzo se ne fu andato, Davide si alzò dal lato meridionale si gettò con la faccia a terra e si prostrò tre volte; poi i due si baciarono l'un l'altro e piansero insieme; ma Davide pianse di più. |
| 42 | Et Jonathan dit à David : Va en paix, maintenant que nous avons juré l'un et l'autre, au nom de l'Éternel, en disant : Que l'Éternel soit à jamais entre moi et toi, entre ma postérité et ta postérité ! David se leva, et s'en alla, et Jonathan rentra dans la ville. | And Jonathan said to David, Go in peace, forasmuch as we have sworn both of us in the name of Jehovah, saying, Jehovah shall be between me and thee, and between my seed and thy seed, for ever. And he arose and departed: and Jonathan went into the city. | Poi Gionathan disse a Davide: Va' in pace, ora che noi due abbiamo giurato nel nome dell'Eterno: l'Eterno sia testimone fra me e te e fra la mia discendenza e la tua discendenza per sempre. Quindi Davide si levò e se ne andò, e Gionathan tornò in città. |
