| 6 | Il fit aussi un porche tout de colonnes, de cinquante coudées de long, et de trente coudées de large; et ce porche était au devant des colonnes de la maison, de sorte que les colonnes et les poutres étaient au devant d'elles. | And he made the porch of pillars; the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth thereof thirty cubits; and a porch before them; and pillars and a threshold before them. |
| 7 | Il fit aussi un porche pour le trône sur lequel il rendait ses jugements, appelé le Porche du jugement, et on le couvrit de cèdre depuis un bout du sol jusqu'à l'autre. | And he made the porch of the throne where he was to judge, even the porch of judgment: and it was covered with cedar from floor to floor. |
| 8 | Et dans sa maison où il demeurait il y avait un autre parvis au dedans du porche, qui était du même ouvrage. Salomon fit aussi à la fille de Pharaon, qu'il avait épousée, une maison bâtie comme ce porche. | And his house where he was to dwell, the other court within the porch, was of the like work. He made also a house for Pharaoh`s daughter (whom Solomon had taken to wife), like unto this porch. |
| 9 | Toutes ces choses étaient de pierres de prix, de la même mesure que les pierres de taille, sciées à la scie, en dedans et en dehors, depuis le fond jusqu'aux corniches, et par dehors jusqu'au grand parvis. | All these were of costly stones, even of hewn stone, according to measure, sawed with saws, within and without, even from the foundation unto the coping, and so on the outside unto the great court. |
| 10 | Le fondement était aussi de pierres de prix, de grandes pierres, des pierres de dix coudées, et des pierres de huit coudées. | And the foundation was of costly stones, even great stones, stones of ten cubits, and stones of eight cubits. |
| 11 | Et par dessus il y avait des pierres de prix, de la même mesure que les pierres de taille, et que le bois de cèdre. | And above were costly stones, even hewn stone, according to measure, and cedar-wood. |
| 12 | Et le grand parvis avait aussi tout alentour trois rangées de pierres de taille, et une rangée de poutres de cèdre, comme le parvis de dedans la maison de l'Eternel, et le porche de la maison. | And the great court round about had three courses of hewn stone, and a course of cedar beams; like as the inner court of the house of Jehovah, and the porch of the house. |
| 13 | Or le Roi Salomon avait fait venir de Tyr Hiram; | And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre. |
| 14 | fils d'une femme veuve de la Tribu de Nephthali, le père duquel était Tyrien, travaillant en cuivre; fort expert, intelligent, et savant pour faire toutes sortes d'ouvrages d'airain; il vint donc vers le Roi Salomon, et fit tout son ouvrage. | He was the son of a widow of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass; and he was filled with wisdom and understanding and skill, to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and wrought all his work. |
| 15 | Il fondit deux colonnes d'airain, la hauteur de l'une des colonne était de dix-huit coudées; et un réseau de douze coudées entourait l'autre colonne. | For he fashioned the two pillars of brass, eighteen cubits high apiece: and a line of twelve cubits compassed either of them about. |
| 16 | Il fit aussi deux chapiteaux d'airain fondu pour mettre sur les sommets des colonnes; et la hauteur de l'un des chapiteaux était de cinq coudées, et la hauteur de l'autre chapiteau était aussi de cinq coudées. | And he made two capitals of molten brass, to set upon the tops of the pillars: the height of the one capital was five cubits, and the height of the other capital was five cubits. |
| 17 | Il y avait des entrelassures en forme de rets, de filets entortillés en façon de chaînes, pour les chapiteaux qui étaient sur le sommet des colonnes, sept pour l'un des chapiteaux, et sept pour l'autre. | There were nets of checker-work, and wreaths of chain-work, for the capitals which were upon the top of the pillars; seven for the one capital, and seven for the other capital. |
| 18 | Et il les appropria aux colonnes, avec deux rangs de pommes de grenade sur un rets, tout autour, pour couvrir l' un des chapiteaux qui était sur le sommet d'une des colonnes, et il fit la même chose pour l'autre chapiteau. | So he made the pillars; and there were two rows round about upon the one network, to cover the capitals that were upon the top of the pillars: and so did he for the other capital. |
| 19 | Et les chapiteaux qui étaient sur le sommet des colonnes, étaient en façon de fleurs de lis, hauts de quatre coudées pour mettre au porche. | And the capitals that were upon the top of the pillars in the porch were of lily-work, four cubits. |
| 20 | Or les chapiteaux étaient sur les deux colonnes, ils étaient, dis-je, au dessus, depuis l'endroit du ventre qui était au delà du rets. Il y avait aussi deux cents pommes de grenade, disposées par rangs tout autour, sur le second chapiteau. | And there were capitals above also upon the two pillars, close by the belly which was beside the network: and the pomegranates were two hundred, in rows round about upon the other capital. |
| 21 | Il dressa donc les colonnes au porche du Temple, et mit l'une à main droite et la nomma Jakin; et il mit l'autre à main gauche, et la nomma Boaz. | And he set up the pillars at the porch of the temple: and he set up the right pillar, and called the name thereof Jachin; and he set up the left pillar, and called the name thereof Boaz. |
| 22 | Et on posa sur le chapiteau des colonnes l'ouvrage fait en façon de fleurs de lis; ainsi l'ouvrage des colonnes fut achevé. | And upon the top of the pillars was lily-work: so was the work of the pillars finished. |
| 23 | Il fit aussi une mer de fonte qui avait dix coudées d'un bord à l'autre; ronde tout autour, de cinq coudées de haut; et un cordon de trente coudées l'environnait tout autour. | And he made the molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round in compass, and the height thereof was five cubits; and a line of thirty cubits compassed it round about. |
| 24 | Et il y avait tout autour, au dessous de son bord des figures de boeufs en relief, qui l'environnaient, dix à chaque coudée, lesquelles entouraient la mer tout autour. Il y avait deux rangées de ces figures de boeufs en relief, jetées en fonte. | And under the brim of it round about there were knops which did compass it, for ten cubits, compassing the sea round about: the knops were in two rows, cast when it was cast. |
| 25 | Et elle était posée sur douze boeufs, dont trois regardaient le Septentrion et trois regardaient l'Occident, et trois regardaient le Midi, et trois regardaient l'Orient. La mer était sur leurs dos, et tout le derrière de leurs corps était tourné en dedans. | It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east; and the sea was set upon them above, and all their hinder parts were inward. |
| 26 | Son épaisseur était d'une paume, et son bord était comme le bord d'une coupe à façon de fleurs de lis; elle contenait deux mille baths. | And it was a handbreadth thick: and the brim thereof was wrought like the brim of a cup, like the flower of a lily: it held two thousand baths. |
| 27 | Il fit aussi dix soubassements d'airain, ayant chacun quatre coudées de long, et quatre coudées de large, et trois coudées de haut. | And he made the ten bases of brass; four cubits was the length of one base, and four cubits the breadth thereof, and three cubits the height of it. |
| 28 | Or l'ouvrage de chaque soubassement était de telle manière, qu'ils avaient des châssis enchâssés entre des embâtements. | And the work of the bases was on this manner: they had panels; and there were panels between the ledges; |
| 29 | Et sur ces châssis, qui étaient entre les embâtements, il y avait des figures de lions, de boeufs, et de Chérubins. Et au dessus des embâtements il y avait un bassin sur le haut; et au dessous des figures de lions et de boeufs il y avait des corniches faites en pente. | and on the panels that were between the ledges were lions, oxen, and cherubim; and upon the ledges there was a pedestal above; and beneath the lions and oxen were wreaths of hanging work. |
| 30 | Et chaque soubassement avait quatre roues d'airain, avec des ais d'airain; et il y avait aux quatre angles certaines épaulières, qui se rendaient au dessous du cuvier au delà de toutes les corniches, sans qu'on s'en aperçût. | And every base had four brazen wheels, and axles of brass; and the four feet thereof had undersetters: beneath the laver were the undersetters molten, with wreaths at the side of each. |
| 31 | Or l'ouverture du cuvier, depuis le dedans du chapiteau en haut, était d'une coudée; mais l'ouverture du chapiteau était ronde de la façon du bassin, et elle était d'une coudée et demie, et sur les châssis de cette ouverture il y avait des gravures; ces ouvertures avaient aussi des châssis carrés, et non pas ronds. | And the mouth of it within the capital and above was a cubit: and the mouth thereof was round after the work of a pedestal, a cubit and a half; and also upon the mouth of it were gravings, and their panels were foursquare, not round. |
| 32 | Et les quatre roues étaient au dessous des châssis; et les essieux des roues tenaient au soubassement; chaque roue avait la hauteur d'une coudée et demie. | And the four wheels were underneath the panels; and the axletrees of the wheels were in the base: and the height of a wheel was a cubit and half a cubit. |
| 33 | Et la façon des roues était selon la façon des roues de chariot; leurs essieux, leurs jantes, leurs moyeux, et leurs rayons étaient tous de fonte. | And the work of the wheels was like the work of a chariot wheel: their axletrees, and their felloes, and their spokes, and their naves, were all molten. |
| 34 | Il y avait aussi quatre épaulières aux quatre angles de chaque soubassement, qui en étaient tirées. | And there were four undersetters at the four corners of each base: the undersetters thereof were of the base itself. |
| 35 | Il y avait aussi au sommet de chaque soubassement une demi-coudée de hauteur, qui était ronde tout autour; de sorte que chaque soubassement avait à son sommet ses tenons et ses châssis, qui en étaient tirés. | And in the top of the base was there a round compass half a cubit high; and on the top of the base the stays thereof and the panels thereof were of the same. |
| 36 | Puis on grava les ais des tenons, et des châssis de chaque soubassement de figures de Chérubins, de lions et de palmes, selon le plan de chaque tenon, châssis, et corniche tout autour. | And on the plates of the stays thereof, and on the panels thereof, he graved cherubim, lions, and palm-trees, according to the space of each, with wreaths round about. |
| 37 | Il fit les dix soubassements de cette même façon, ayant tous une même fonte, une même mesure, et une même entailleure. | After this manner he made the ten bases: all of them had one casting, one measure, and one form. |
| 38 | Il fit aussi dix cuviers d'airain, dont chacun contenait quarante baths, et chaque cuvier était de quatre coudées, chaque cuvier était sur chacun des dix soubassements. | And he made ten lavers of brass: one laver contained forty baths; and every laver was four cubits; and upon very one of the ten bases one laver. |
| 39 | Et on mit cinq soubassements au côté droit du Temple, et cinq au côté gauche du Temple; et on plaça la mer au côté droit du Temple, tirant vers l'µOrient du côté du Midi. | And he set the bases, five on the right side of the house, and five on the left side of the house: and he set the sea on the right side of the house eastward, toward the south. |
| 40 | Ainsi Hiram fit des cuviers, et des racloirs, et des bassins, et il acheva de faire tout l'ouvrage qu'il faisait au Roi Salomon pour le Temple de l'Eternel. | And Hiram made the lavers, and the shovels, and the basins. So Hiram made an end of doing all the work that he wrought for king Solomon in the house of Jehovah: |
| 41 | Savoir, deux colonnes, et les deux bassins des chapiteaux qui étaient sur le sommet des colonnes; et deux réseaux pour couvrir les deux bassins qui étaient sur le sommet des colonnes; | the two pillars, and the two bowls of the capitals that were on the top of the pillars; and the two networks to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were on the top of the pillars; |
| 42 | Et quatre cents pommes de grenade pour les deux réseaux, de sorte qu'il y avait deux rangées de pommes de grenade pour chaque réseau, afin de couvrir les deux bassins des chapiteaux, qui étaient sur les colonnes; | and the four hundred pomegranates for the two networks; two rows of pomegranates for each network, to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were upon the pillars; |
| 43 | Dix soubassements; et dix cuviers pour mettre sur les soubassements; | and the ten bases, and the ten lavers on the bases; |
| 44 | Et une mer, et douze boeufs sous la mer; | and the one sea, and the twelve oxen under the sea; |
| 45 | Et des chaudrons, et des racloirs, et des bassins. Tous ces vaisseaux que Hiram fit au Roi Salomon pour le Temple de l'Eternel, étaient d'airain poli. | and the pots, and the shovels, and the basins: even all these vessels, which Hiram made for king Solomon, in the house of Jehovah, were of burnished brass. |
| 46 | Le Roi les fit fondre en la plaine du Jourdain, dans une terre grasse, entre Succoth et Tsartan. | In the plain of the Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarethan. |
| 47 | Et Salomon ne pesa aucun de ces vaisseaux, parce qu'ils étaient en fort grand nombre; de sorte qu'on ne rechercha point le poids du cuivre. | And Solomon left all the vessels [unweighed], because they were exceeding many: the weight of the brass could not be found out. |
| 48 | Salomon fit aussi tous les ustensiles pour le Temple de l'Eternel, savoir l'autel d'or, et les tables d'or, sur lesquelles étaient les pains de proposition; | And Solomon made all the vessels that were in the house of Jehovah: the golden altar, and the table whereupon the showbread was, of gold; |
| 49 | Et cinq chandeliers de fin or à main droite, et cinq à main gauche devant l'Oracle, et les fleurs et les lampes, et les pincettes d'or; | and the candlesticks, five on the right side, and five on the left, before the oracle, of pure gold; and the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs, of gold; |
| 50 | Et les coupes, les serpes, les bassins, les tasses, et les encensoirs de fin or. Les gonds même des portes de la maison de dedans, c'est-à-dire, du lieu Très-saint, et des portes de la maison, c'est-à-dire du Temple, étaient d'or. | and the cups, and the snuffers, and the basins, and the spoons, and the firepans, of pure gold; and the hinges, both for the doors of the inner house, the most holy place, and for the doors of the house, [to wit], of the temple, of gold. |
| 51 | Ainsi tout l'ouvrage que le Roi Salomon fit pour la maison de l'Eternel fut achevé; puis il y fit apporter ce que David son père avait consacré, l'argent et l'or, et les vaisseaux, et le mit dans les trésors de la maison de l'Eternel. | Thus all the work that king Solomon wrought in the house of Jehovah was finished. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated, [even] the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, and put them in the treasuries of the house of Jehovah. |
