| 22 | Le roi Salomon répondit à sa mère : Pourquoi demandes-tu Abischag, la Sunamite, pour Adonija ? Demande donc la royauté pour lui, -car il est mon frère aîné, -pour lui, pour le sacrificateur Abiathar, et pour Joab, fils de Tseruja ! | And king Solomon answered and said unto his mother, And why dost thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? ask for him the kingdom also; for he is mine elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah. | Il re Salomone rispose a sua madre e disse: Perché chiedi Abishag la Shunamita per Adonijah? | 23 | Alors le roi Salomon jura par l'Éternel, en disant : Que Dieu me traite dans toute sa rigueur, si ce n'est pas au prix de sa vie qu'Adonija a prononcé cette parole ! | Then king Solomon sware by the LORD, saying, God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah have not spoken this word against his own life. | Allora il re Salomone giurò per l'Eterno, dicendo: DIO mi faccia questo e anche peggio, se Adonijah non ha proferito questa parola a costo della sua vita! |
| 24 | Maintenant, l'Éternel est vivant, lui qui m'a affermi et m'a fait asseoir sur le trône de David, mon père, et qui m'a fait une maison selon sa promesse ! aujourd'hui Adonija mourra. | Now therefore, as the LORD liveth, which hath established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who hath made me an house, as he promised, Adonijah shall be put to death this day. | Ora perciò, com'è vero che vive l'Eterno, che mi ha stabilito, mi ha fatto sedere sul trono di Davide mio padre e mi ha fondato una casa come aveva promesso, oggi Adonijah sarà messo a morte!. |
| 25 | Et le roi Salomon envoya Benaja, fils de Jehojada, qui le frappa ; et Adonija mourut. | And king Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell upon him that he died. | Così il re Salomone mandò Benaiah, figlio di Jehoiada, che piombò addosso a Adonijah e questi morì. |
| 26 | Le roi dit ensuite au sacrificateur Abiathar : Va-t'en à Anathoth dans tes terres, car tu mérites la mort ; mais je ne te ferai pas mourir aujourd'hui, parce que tu as porté l'arche du Seigneur l'Éternel devant David, mon père, et parce que tu as eu part à toutes les souffrances de mon père. | And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou art worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the ark of the LORD God before David my father, and because thou hast been afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted. | Poi il re disse al sacerdote Abiathar: Vattene ad Anathoth nei tuoi campi, perché tu meriti la morte, ma non ti farò morire oggi, perché hai portato l'arca del Signore, l'Eterno, davanti a mio padre Davide, e perché hai partecipato a tutte le sofferenze di mio padre. |

| 28 | Le bruit en parvint à Joab, qui avait suivi le parti d'Adonija, quoiqu'il n'eût pas suivi le parti d'Absalom. Et Joab se réfugia vers la tente de l'Éternel, et saisit les cornes de l'autel. | Then tidings came to Joab: for Joab had turned after Adonijah, though he turned not after Absalom. And Joab fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD, and caught hold on the horns of the altar. | Intanto la notizia giunse a Joab, perché Joab aveva seguito Adonijah, ma non aveva seguito Absalom. Perciò egli si rifugiò nel tabernacolo dell'Eterno e si afferrò ai corni dell'altare. |

Et Salomon envoya Benaja, fils de Jehojada, en lui disant : Va, frappe-le. | And it was told king Solomon that Joab was fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD; and, behold, he is by the altar. Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, Go, fall upon him. | Fu quindi riferito al re Salomone: Joab si è rifugiato nel tabernacolo dell'Eterno ed è vicino all'altare. And he said, Nay; but I will die here. | 37 | Sache bien que tu mourras le jour où tu sortiras et passeras le torrent de Cédron ; ton sang sera sur ta tête. | For it shall be, that on the day thou goest out, and passest over the brook Kidron, thou shalt know for certain that thou shalt surely die: thy blood shall be upon thine own head. | Il giorno infatti che uscirai e passerai il torrente Kidron, sappi per certo che morirai; il tuo sangue ricadrà sul tuo capo. |

Et Schimeï demeura longtemps à Jérusalem. | And Shimei said unto the king, The saying is good: as my lord the king hath said, so will thy servant do. On le rapporta à Schimeï, en disant : Voici, tes serviteurs sont à Gath. | And it came to pass at the end of three years, that two of the servants of Shimei ran away unto Achish son of Maachah king of Gath. And they told Shimei, saying, Behold, thy servants be in Gath. | Ma, dopo tre anni, avvenne che due servi di Scimei fuggirono presso Akish, figlio di Maakah, re di Gath. Et ne m'as-tu pas répondu : C'est bien ! j'ai entendu ? | And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Did I not make thee to swear by the LORD, and protested unto thee, saying, Know for a certain, on the day thou goest out, and walkest abroad any whither, that thou shalt surely die? and thou saidst unto me, The word that I have heard is good. | Il re allora mandò a chiamare Scimei e gli disse: Non ti avevo fatto giurare per l'Eterno e non ti avevo solennemente avvertito dicendoti: "Sappi per certo che il giorno in cui uscirai per andare qua o là, morirai"? | 44 | Et le roi dit à Schimeï : Tu sais au dedans de ton coeur tout le mal que tu as fait à David, mon père ; l'Éternel fait retomber ta méchanceté sur ta tête. | The king said moreover to Shimei, Thou knowest all the wickedness which thine heart is privy to, that thou didst to David my father: therefore the LORD shall return thy wickedness upon thine own head; | Il re disse inoltre a Scimei: Tu conosci tutto il male che facesti a Davide mio padre e il tuo cuore ne è consapevole; perciò l'Eterno farà ricadere sul tuo capo la tua malvagità, |
| 45 | Mais le roi Salomon sera béni, et le trône de David sera pour toujours affermi devant l'Éternel. | And king Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before the LORD for ever. | ma il re Salomone sarà benedetto e il trono di Davide sarà reso stabile davanti all'Eterno per sempre. |
| 46 | Et le roi donna ses ordres à Benaja, fils de Jehojada, qui sortit et frappa Schimeï ; et Schimeï mourut. La royauté fut ainsi affermie entre les mains de Salomon. | So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; which went out, and fell upon him, that he died. And the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon. | Quindi il re diede ordine a Benaiah, figlio di Jehoiada, che uscì e colpì Scimei; e questi morì. Così rimase saldo il regno nelle mani di Salomone. |
