Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;For I would not, brethren, have you ignorant, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;Ora, fratelli, non voglio che ignoriate che i nostri padri furono tutti sotto la nuvola e tutti passarono attraverso il mare,
And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;tutti furono battezzati per Mosè nella nuvola e nel mare,
And did all eat the same spiritual meat;and did all eat the same spiritual food;tutti mangiarono il medesimo cibo spirituale,
And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them: and the rock was Christ.e tutti bevvero la medesima bevanda spirituale, perché bevevano dalla roccia spirituale che li seguiva; or quella roccia era Cristo.
But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.Howbeit with most of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.Or queste cose avvennero come esempi per noi, affinché non desideriamo cose malvagie come essi fecero,
Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.e affinché non diventiate idolatri come alcuni di loro, secondo quanto sta scritto: Il popolo si sedette per mangiare e per bere, e poi si alzò per divertirsi.
Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.E non fornichiamo, come alcuni di loro fornicarono, per cui ne caddero in un giorno ventitremila.
Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.Neither let us make trial of the Lord, as some of them made trial, and perished by the serpents.E non tentiamo Cristo, come alcuni di loro lo tentarono, per cui perirono per mezzo dei serpenti,
Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.Neither murmur ye, as some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer.E non mormorate, come alcuni di loro mormorarono, per cui perirono per mezzo del distruttore.
Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. Now these things happened unto them by way of example; and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come.
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.There hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it.Nessuna tentazione vi ha finora colti se non umana, or Dio è fedele e non permetterà che siate tentati oltre le vostre forze, ma con la tentazione vi darà anche la via d'uscita, affinché la possiate sostenere.
Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.Wherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.Perciò, miei cari, fuggite dall'idolatria.
I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.Io parlo come a persone intelligenti; giudicate voi ciò che dico:
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a communion of the body of Christ?il calice della benedizione, che noi benediciamo, non è forse partecipazione con il sangue di Cristo?
For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.seeing that we, who are many, are one bread, one body: for we are all partake of the one bread.Poiché vi è un solo pane e noi, sebbene in molti, siamo un solo corpo, poiché tutti partecipiamo dell'unico pane.
Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?Behold Israel after the flesh: have not they that eat the sacrifices communion with the altar?
What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing? What say I then? that a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?
But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. But [I say], that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have communion with demons.
Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: ye cannot partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons.
Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?Vogliamo noi provocare il Signore a gelosia? Siamo noi più forti di lui?
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.All things are lawful; but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful; but not all things edify.
Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.Let no man seek his own, but [each] his neighbor`s [good].Nessuno cerchi il proprio interesse, ma ciascuno cerchi quello altrui.
Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, eat, asking no question for conscience` sake,Mangiate di tutto ciò che si vende al macello senza fare alcuna domanda per motivo di coscienza,
For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.for the earth is the Lord`s, and the fulness thereof.perché la terra e tutto ciò che essa contiene è del Signore,
If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.If one of them that believe not biddeth you [to a feast], and ye are disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience` sake.
But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:But if any man say unto you, This hath been offered in sacrifice, eat not, for his sake that showed it, and for conscience sake:Ma se qualcuno vi dice: Questo fa parte delle cose sacrificate agli idoli, non ne mangiate, per riguardo a colui che vi ha avvertito e per motivo di coscienza, perché la terra e tutto ciò che essa contiene è del Signore.
Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience?conscience, I say, not thine own, but the other`s; for why is my liberty judged by another conscience?
For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks? If I partake with thankfulness, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.Sia dunque che mangiate, sia che beviate, sia che facciate alcun'altra cosa, fate tutte le cose alla gloria di Dio.
Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:Give no occasions of stumbling, either to Jews, or to Greeks, or to the church of God:Non date motivo di scandalo né ai Giudei, né ai Greci, né alla chiesa di Dio;
Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.even as I also please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the [profit] of the many, that they may be saved.come io stesso mi sforzo di essere gradito a tutti in ogni cosa, non cercando il mio proprio vantaggio ma quello di molti, affinché siano salvati.
