1Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but forasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.Or les enfants de Ruben, le premier-né d'Israël (car il était le premier-né; mais après qu'il eut souillé le lit de son père, son droit d'aînesse fut donné aux enfants de Joseph fils d'Israël; non cependant pour être mis le premier dans la généalogie selon le droit d'aînesse;And the sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel (for he was the first-born; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father`s couch, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.

9And eastward he inhabited unto the entering in of the wilderness from the river Euphrates: because their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.Ensuite il habita du côté de l'Orient jusqu'à l'entrée du désert, depuis le fleuve d'Euphrate; car son bétail s'était multiplié au pays de Galaad.and eastward he dwelt even unto the entrance of the wilderness from the river Euphrates, because their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.
10And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarites, who fell by their hand: and they dwelt in their tents throughout all the east land of Gilead.Et du temps de Saül ils firent la guerre contre les Hagaréniens, qui moururent par leurs mains, et ils habitèrent dans leurs tentes, en tout le pays qui regarde vers l'Orient de Galaad.And in the days of Saul, they made war with the Hagrites, who fell by their hand; and they dwelt in their tents throughout all the [land] east of Gilead.

12Joel the chief, and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan.Joël fut le premier Chef, et Saphan le second après lui, puis Jahnaï, puis Saphat en Basan.Joel the chief, and Shapham the second, and Janai, and Shaphat in Bashan.
13And their brethren of the house of their fathers were, Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Heber, seven.Et leurs frères selon la maison de leurs pères, furent sept, Micaël, Mesullam, Sébah, Joraï, Jahcan, Ziah, et Héber.And their brethren of their fathers` houses: Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jacan, and Zia, and Eber, seven.
14These are the children of Abihail the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;Ceux-ci furent les enfants d'Abihaïl fils de Huri, fils de Jaroah, fils de Galaad, fils de Micaël, fils de Jésisaï, fils de Jahdo, fils de Buz.These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;

16And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in her towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, upon their borders.Et ils habitèrent en Galaad, et en Basan, et dans les villes de son ressort, et dans tous les faubourgs de Saron, selon leurs limites.And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in its towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, as far as their borders.

18The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skilful in war, were four and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore, that went out to the war.Il y eut des enfants de Ruben, et de ceux de Gad, et de la demi-Tribu de Manassé, d'entre les vaillants hommes, portant le bouclier et l'épée, tirant de l'arc, et propres à la guerre, quarante-quatre mille sept cent soixante, marchant en bataille;The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skilful in war, were forty and four thousand seven hundred and threescore, that were able to go forth to war.

20And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.Et ils furent aidés contr'eux, de sorte que les Hagaréniens, et tous ceux qui étaient avec eux, furent livrés entre leurs mains, parce qu'ils crièrent à Dieu quand ils combattaient, et il fut fléchi par leurs prières, à cause qu'ils avaient mis leur espérance en lui.And they were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and he was entreated of them, because they put their trust in him.

22For there fell down many slain, because the war was of God. 23And the children of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land: they increased from Bashan unto Baalhermon and Senir, and unto mount Hermon.Les enfants de la demi-Tribu de Manassé habitèrent aussi en ce pays-là, et s'étendirent depuis Basan jusqu'à Bahal-hermon et à Sénir, qui est la montagne de Hermon.And the children of the half-tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land: they increased from Bashan unto Baal-hermon and Senir and mount Hermon.
24And these were the heads of the house of their fathers, even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, and heads of the house of their fathers.Et ce sont ici les Chefs de la maison de leurs pères; Hépher, Jisehi, Eliël, Hazriël, Jérémie, Hodavia, et Jacdiël, hommes forts et vaillants, gens de réputation, et Chefs de la maison de leurs pères.And these were the heads of their fathers` houses: even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valor, famous men, heads of their fathers` houses.
25And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.Mais ils péchèrent contre le Dieu de leurs pères, et paillardèrent après les dieux des peuples du pays, que l'Eternel avait détruits devant eux.And they trespassed against the God of their fathers, and played the harlot after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God destroyed before them.
26And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgathpilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto this day.Et le Dieu d'Israël émut l'esprit de Pul Roi des Assyriens, et l'esprit de Tiglath-Pilhéser Roi des Assyriens, qui transporta les Rubénites, et les Gadites, et la demi-Tribu de Manassé, et les emmena à Chalach, à Chabor, à Hara, et au fleuve de Gozan, où ils sont demeurés jusqu'à ce jour.And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river of Gozan, unto this day.
