| 1 | Et quant aux fils d'Aaron, voici leurs classes: Fils d'Aaron: Nadab et Abihu, Éléazar et Ithamar. | Now these are the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron; Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. |
| 2 | Et Nadab et Abihu moururent avant leur père, et n'eurent point de fils. Et Éléazar et Ithamar exercèrent la sacrificature. | But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children: therefore Eleazar and Ithamar executed the priest's office. |
| 3 | Et Tsadok, des fils d'Éléazar, et Akhimélec, des fils d'Ithamar, David les distribua en classes, selon leur office dans leur service: | And David distributed them, both Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according to their offices in their service. |
| 4 | et des fils d'Éléazar on trouva un plus grand nombre de chefs de famille que des fils d'Ithamar, et on les distribua en classes: des fils d'Éléazar, seize chefs de maisons de pères; et des fils d'Ithamar, huit, selon leurs maisons de pères. | And there were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar, and thus were they divided. Among the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen chief men of the house of their fathers, and eight among the sons of Ithamar according to the house of their fathers. |

| 31 | Et eux aussi, comme leurs frères, les fils d'Aaron, tirèrent au sort devant le roi David, et Tsadok, et Akhimélec, et les chefs des pères des sacrificateurs et des Lévites, les chefs des pères comme le plus petit d'entre leurs frères. | These likewise cast lots over against their brethren the sons of Aaron in the presence of David the king, and Zadok, and Ahimelech, and the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites, even the principal fathers over against their younger brethren. |
